5 Reasons to Visit the Summer of Heroes Celebration at Disneyland

If you’ve been following along with my #D23Expo posts you know that I had an unbelievable time on my trip.  If those post have been causing you to itch for a trip to California, this one just might be the reason to book your flight.  This year Disneyland is having a celebration, the Summer of Heroes at Disneyland’s California Adventure.

Here are 5 Reasons to Visit the Summer of Heroes Celebration at Disneyland!

1. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

This is a must ride, ride! People will try to chicken out, don’t let them. 😉 It is seriously worth it. It might take a little courage, but it is so fun.  Plus, you’ll get to join (cute little) Rocket on a thrilling mission to rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy from high up in The Collector’s fortress!

2. Summer of Heroes Showcase

Want to see your favorite superhero costumes up close? This is the place for you.  I was so impressed with this show case! It is definitely a great place to check out.  Plus, if you need a break from walking all around it is a wonderful option to sit, relax and let yourself be impressed by the show. You’ll get to watch the Summer of Heroes showcase in the cutest, vintage styled theater.  Trust me, the effects are sure to impress.

3. The Food- Superhero Inspired

The Summer of Heroes celebration wouldn’t be much a celebration if it didn’t include food, am I right? Disney California Adventure Park created the best super Hero-inspired food and beverages at six different locations in the park.  You can indulge in your favorite superhero themed foods.  Dishes and drinks are made in superhero themed colors, like green, purple, red, blue and orange reflect the themes of some of your favorite heroes.

One of the most popular are  desserts is inspired by baby Groot. The Angry Little Pudding Cup features chocolate pudding with crumbled chocolate sandwich cookie, whipped cream and funnel cake fries.  While you’re in the Galaxy mood, make sure to try out the Most Dangerous Tacos in the Galaxy, inspired by the fiery personality of Gamora, featuring barbacoa, green onion slaw and habanero salsa.

4. The Experience

Children get the chance to put their training skills into the real world. They can join Hawkeye and Black Widow for a special training similar to the Jedi Training Academy to join the Avengers team.

After they’ve trained it’s time to let loose. They can partipate in a dance off with Peter Quill and Gamora.  This happens multiple times throughout the day and hey, Groot might even show up!
