6 Places Every St. Louisan Should Go in KCMO
Whether you are just visiting or you plan on staying here, Kansas City has several things to offer a St. Louisan desperate for a taste of home. Luckily for you, there’s more in common with these cities than their I-70 connection and deep-rooted baseball fans. So here’s the scoop on how to make Kansas City feel like home!
Go to a Chiefs Game
Saying goodbye to the Rams is hard, but luckily there’s still a team down I-70. They say Arrowhead Stadium is the loudest stadium in the world, and it lives up to its name. You may still be bitter about Stan Kroenke and the Rams, but that shouldn’t keep you from hopping on the bandwagon just this once. From the moment you enter the stadium, all thoughts of the Rams will drift from your mind. With the Chiefs success from last year, the electricity from the stadium will only increase this year, so make sure you make it out to a game!

Watch the Blues Exhibition game
For a city with no NHL team, Kansas City knows how to put on a hockey game. Kansas City has hosted an exhibition game for the St. Louis Blues the last two years, and the atmosphere has been electric. The Sprint Center has been host to the game in the past and the transformation from arena to hockey rink is a sight itself. You may have been to the Sprint Center for a concert or basketball game, but nothing compares to that St. Louis hometown feel of a Blues Power Play dance in Kansas City. Once the season starts, you can head to The Blue Line hockey bar to watch the games. Visiting Kansas City’s only hockey bar will let you bleed blue from across the state!

Visit Boulevard Brewery
St. Louis is a city known for its beer, and while Anheuser-Busch will always be in our hearts, Boulevard Brewery can help fill the void. Their signature craft beers provide a little variety to a St. Louisan’s palette. With over 30 different beers, any St. Louisan can quench their thirst on one of Boulevard’s year-round, seasonal or specialty beer options. Taking a tour of the brewery may trigger some reminiscing about home, but after tasting some Tank 7 or Radler, all thoughts of Anheuser-Busch will be pushed from your mind.

Visit the Kansas City Zoo
St. Louis prides itself on having the best zoo in the country, especially for the price. However, the Kansas City Zoo is worth the trip. The highlight of the KC Zoo is its Africa section, which is split into animals from East and West Africa. In the East African section, the chimpanzee exhibit cannot be missed. This realistic enclosure lets visitors witness chimpanzees in their natural forest habitat. While it might not live up to the high expectations the St. Louis Zoo has set for the price, the Kansas City Zoo is a one-time must-see.

Grab a Slice at Waldo Pizza
Every St. Louisan knows that Imos is the square beyond compare, but that St. Louis style pizza can still be found in KC! With several locations in the Kansas City area, Waldo Pizza offers that great Imos style that will never be far away. Sadly, you’ll have to go without the toasted ravs until your next trip home, but that shouldn’t stop you from grabbing some friends, grabbing some Boulevards, and sinking your teeth into some Waldo pizza.
