6 Reasons The Jenny Craig Program Actually Works


Starting off 2017, I made a commitment like many of you to be healthier and make fitness a priority.  Going into 2017 was also the first year in my life that I have been completely self employed.  Last year, I left my part time teaching job to focus on my little piece of the internet.  While, the perks definitely outweigh the cons, being so crazy busy is hard.  After a long day at the office then trying to mange to make it to multiple weekly events, cooking is almost out of the question.

I was looking for something that would make my hectic life and little easier while still staying on track with my healthy goals.  I heard about Jenny Craig and wanted to give it a try.  I had already been trying to be conscious of what I was eating while ending the year, but I wanted to try something that would help me stay on track.  After a few hours of research and reading what other bloggers had to say, I knew Jenny Craig was the way to go.

I’ve been trying out Jenny Craig for two months now and I am happy to say I highly recommend their program.  I’ve narrowed it down to the 6 reasons that I believe the Jenny Craig program works.

The food is good!

This to me is the most important.  The older you get the more you realize how important quality is in all aspects of your life.  The Jenny Craig food is of the highest prepackaged food quality I have tried.  It is prepared by professional chefs so you’re never left feeling like you’re eating diet food.  Because I was able to enjoy food, I never felt like I was depriving myself or sacrificing something for the sake of this diet.  It includes everything from pasta to protein shakes and even tasty desserts.  I also really liked the protein shakes and bars. 


This is a big one for me, convenience.  I wanted a program that would actually make my life easier.  I didn’t want the stress of evening going to the grocery store.  I know that sounds crazy, but hear me out. The grocery store just leads to temptations and time wasted.  Think about those times you’ve gone to the grocery store hungry and end up with things you should never buy.  You won’t have to worry about that with the Jenny Craig program.  The food shows up right to your front door.  I can’t even explain how amazing this was…seriously right on time every two weeks I got two coolers filled with my groceries. This is what 2 weeks of food looks like.  Check out that variety!

Portion Sizes

Most of us over eat.  I mean how can you not when you’re biting into something delicious you just find yourself wanting more.  With Jenny Craig you don’t have to worry about that dreaded problem.  You still get to eat your pasta and cupcakes, just in moderation!  I can’t begin to tell you how surprised I was to see what a healthy portion size actually looks like.  Let’s just say most of those restaurant meals should probably be cut in half.  With Jenny Craig they take the measuring out and do the hard work for you.  You simple know that you pre-portioned foods are exactly what your body will need.


This is such an amazing part of the Jenny Craig program.  You are assigned to a weight loss consultant.  Mine was Priscilla and she called me every week at the same time to chat about how I was doing on the program.  She kept me accountable because she was so positive I couldn’t disappoint her. Someone calls you every week to check in on you, it makes you accountable for what you’re putting into your body.  The counselors are encouraging and ask you how you are doing and even get to know you.  She would always ask if I had any schedule changes in my upcoming week and would create a plan for me to stay on track. With Jenny Craig, you always have someone there to cheer you on, motivate you and keep you on track!

It’s realistic

You’re not going on another crash diet by eating next to nothing.  Instead, members can expect to lose 1-2 pounds a week a by starting a new lifestyle where you learn portion control and how to make healthy choices.  This is a way of restructuring your life and they way you look at food.  Plus, I have to say not being able to worry about anything when it comes to eating has been seriously amazing.  Everything was lined out for me in calendar form.  I wanted a program that frees me from the responsibility of counting and measuring while also leaving me satisfied.  Jenny Craig did exactly that.  The program offers over 100 menu items prepared by chefs so your consistently getting quality meals which makes sticking to the program a lot easier.

You get results

Portion control, tasty food, and feeling satisfied make Jenny Craig easy to stick to.  Because it’s easy to maintain, you’ll actually get results.  I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve gone on a diet and gave up because I was too hungry or the food was just unappetizing.  Jenny Craig and consistent exercise helped me to improve my body.

While, weight loss is always a goal on these programs, I think the overall way I feel is the best result.  It was exactly what I needed to get me motivated to get in shape focus on what I’m putting into my body.  I had a goal of losing 10 pounds I am down 6* with 4 more to go. I did start doing more intense workouts and even noticed a little muscle starting to form. 🙂 I’m truly excited to continue my journey to a healthier lifestyle thanks to Jenny Craig!
