7 Ways to Keep Your Summer Glow Into The Fall and Beyond: Tips to Use Year-Round
One of my favorite things about summer, is that summer glow. As always, the summer months seem to fly by. However, you can keep that summer glow into the fall and beyond with these easy 7 tips.
1. Remove unwanted hair.
This may be the easiest way to keep your summer glow year round. In the summer, we are often very self-conscious about body hair, so we make it a point to get rid of it. Doing that all year will help your hair become less of a problem during the summer months. I recommend using Nair™ hair removal. It’s easy to use and allows you to get rid of that hair in the comfort of your own home. Plus, their new line includes moroccan argan oil in each of their products. This has often been refereed to as “liquid gold”, and wow does it make my skin smooth. The Moroccan Argan Oil Collection includes three hair removal treatments that are easy to use: Nair™ Ultimate Roll-On Wax Moroccan Argan Oil, Nair™ Sprays Away™ Moroccan Argan Oil, and Nair™ Shower Power™ Moroccan Argan Oil.
2. Always wear sunscreen.
Don’t forget to put on your sunscreen before you take off for some fun in the sun. You should liberally apply a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 before going out. Reapply every two hours if you’re in the water or sweating heavily. If your skin is already on the dry side, you can use a sunscreen with an added moisturizer. We hear this all summer long, but it really is that important—even during the rest of the year. You’ll be happy you did in the long run.
3. Keep hydrated!
Fighting dry summer skin starts on the inside. Drinking a lot of water will aid your body’s natural oil production. Drink water several times a day to battle dry skin. One way to determine how much water your body needs is by dividing your body weight in half and then transferring that to ounces.
4. Take cooler showers.
Heavenly though they are, long steamy showers tend to dry out the skin by washing off its natural oils. Without these oils, our skin can lose more moisture than usual during the day. Consider taking shorter, cooler showers to amp up your skin’s natural oil attributes.
5. Exfoliate weekly.
Exfoliation can do wonders for the skin. Removing the dead skin cells will leave your skin radiant and smooth. First, apply an exfoliating cleanser to a loofah or exfoliating gloves and scrub your body in a circular motion, starting from your feet and working your way up. A body brush can help to exfoliate hard to reach areas like your back. Use a gentle exfoliating product especially formulated for the face because body products will be too harsh. Select cleansers with sea salt, sugar, walnuts, or other grainy substances. Exfoliating once or twice a week is usually enough to attain silky skin, but women with oily skin may want to exfoliate more often than women with dry skin.
6. Go easy with the towel.
Using a lot of force when rubbing water off your skin can leave you feeling dry and flaky. Instead, lightly pat your skin dry after the shower or washing your hands. Then when you put on your moisturizer, it’ll lock in even more moisture left on your skin.
7. Moisturize after showering.
Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! Once you step out of the shower, apply a rich body lotion all over, and choose a facial moisturizer depending on your skin type. Face and body lotions containing alpha or beta hydroxy acids are ideal choices because these acids continue to remove dead skin cells. Moisturizing is probably the best way to defend yourself against dry scaly skin.
All these tips combined and good skin care regimes are imperative and most helpful during bikini season and when winter-weary skin needs rejuvenating. With these easy tips you can keep that skin glowing through the upcoming months.
