Dear Evan Hansen

Last week, Broadway sensation, Ben Platt, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Platt gave fans some answers about a possible Dear Evan Hansen movie where he would reprise his Tony-winning role. Since his run as Evan Hansen from 2014-2016, Platt has been busy working on Netflix’s The Politician and his own live show Ben Platt Live From Radio City Music Hall.

“It’s something we definitely have been trying to get together and make happen…”

Platt’s Love Life

Fans also raved at Platt’s mention of “[his] boyfriend Noah,” aka Noah Galvin, another former Evan Hansen star and star of last year’s Booksmart. The two were confirmed to be dating in May and have taken over the Broadway fandom. On the topic of his quarantine mustache, Platt revealed that Galvin really likes Platt’s new facial hair.

“My boyfriend Noah really likes it, so it makes me really like it.”

The Rest of the Interview

Along with Dear Evan Hansen, Jimmy Fallon also asked Platt about where he’s staying in quarantine, the current Black Lives Matter movement, and season two of The Politician. In one cute moment, Platt reminisced on the plays he used to perform in the backyard of his childhood home.

“I did like, you know, “Lion King” with a bunch of kids from my first-grade class that I could, like, convince to come over on the weekends and perform.”

Conclusion

In the end, Broadway fans have their fingers crossed that a Dear Evan Hansen movie will come to life post-quarantine, as Hamilton has on Disney+. So, with this film possibly in the works and a rumored season 3 of The Politician, it seems that we will be seeing plenty of Ben Platt in the future.
