A Top-to-Toe Pamper List

Every season is pampering season when it comes to you.

Although what you find pampering may vary from person to person, it’s still vital that we find time in our day to take care of ourselves.

Many of us spend much of our time taking care of others, and we just don’t seem to be able to lighten the load.

Even when people are around to help us, some people still don’t find it easy to ask for help. Asking for help is a huge part of self-care, so if you have people in your support network willing to pitch in from time to time, then ask them.

When it comes to self-care, it’s not just about dunking yourself in a bath for an hour in the evenings. Although a nice warm bath can do wonders to relax and unknot muscles; sometimes it can be things like organizing yourself for the next day, taking off items on your to-do list, and even handling your taxes.

But if you are looking for a quick list of ideas that can help you pamper yourself from top-to-toe, you are in the right place.

So brew yourself a nice cup of tea and get started.

Hair

Many of us use lots of different heat styling products, hair dye, and even harsh gels to do our hair every day. Even tying your hair up in a bun can cause damage. So if your locks need a little bit of love, then this is your sign to take care of them.

If you happen to have a lot of damage and split ends, it is often better to head to the salon and get them trimmed off. Over time they will snap or become fluffy and fuzzy and are challenging to hide. Picking up a reasonably priced hair mask and leaving it in for a few minutes can work wonders, though.

If you want something a little more natural, you can use olive oil down the length and ends of your hair, but make sure you skip the roots. Wrap a warm towel around it, and the oil will soak into your hair. Rinse as usual, and you should have some shiny, soft strands.

Facial skin

If you don’t already have a multi-step skincare routine, then don’t worry about it. There are a lot of products on the market, and it can be challenging to decide which ones are the right ones for you.

A face mask is one of the quickest ways to give your skin a little pep up; look for something with either retinol or a little bit of vitamin C in it to have some brightening treatments in no time.

Lips and eyes are prone to getting dry, and even more so as the winter comes in. Find a lip balm that has nutritional components like coconut oil or aloe vera. Quite often, we will forget that the skin around our eyes is very soft and very sensitive; often an eye cream is the best option over a thicker face cream.

If you simply don’t have time or want to do those things, consider a single evening night cream. A night cream will help your skin repair, rejuvenate and replenish overnight.

Remember to smooth that cream down over your neck.

Body

Taking care of your body inside and out will make you feel much better and give you plenty of energy to tackle everything you have to do. Many people find having a lovely herbal tea in the evening relaxing, or even a dose of Simply CBD.

Of course, having plenty of water, fresh fruit, and vegetables are the main ingredients for a body filled with nutrients and fully fuelled up.

But a little indulgence from time to time is perfect.

We know working out or being active for a portion of every day is vital. However, if you live a hectic lifestyle, maybe one of the things you don’t want to do at the end of the day is working out.

So instead, take a look at how often you could change your route to work or drop the kids off at school. If you take a car, and that school is pretty far away, this probably won’t work for you. However, getting in some extra walks is essential.

You could even try and just do a few minutes of yoga each day. Some yoga flows are designed to help you relax at the end of a long day, and they only take about 10 minutes to complete.

One of the things that you can add to your bath time routine or even shower routine is using a body scrub to remove any dead skin.

We don’t often notice it piling up until we buff it away. A body scrub isn’t just great for removing dead skin cells; it can also help with circulation. This is why after a good scrub, your skin is left glowing.

Once you’ve got rid of all the dry skin, apply a thick layer of body moisturizer and let that soak in. You might be surprised just how wonderful that feels after a long day.

Hobbies

Hobbies are great for us mentally and emotionally and should always be part of a top-to-toe pamper list. If you have a hobby that you have been leaving to the side lately, it’s time to go back to it. Sometimes we need a little bit of a push to pick up a paintbrush, pens, pencils, whatever it is that you used to do as your hobby.

Hobbies are proven to make us happier, and the more we indulge them, the happier we become – and that’s the point of self-care.

Feet

Your feet are one of the most hard-working parts of the body; they are on the go all day. And if you haven’t given them a little bit of attention and moisturizer, you might be suffering from cracked heels and dry skin. Cracked heels can quickly become painful, so find a moisturizing heel balm and try to add that on in the evening, and put on a pair of socks to help it soak in.

Of course, it would be remiss to talk about a top-to-toe pamper session without discussing sleep. Sometimes we don’t need sleep; we just need to rest.

However, if you are clocking up some serious hours of missed sleep, then that’s going to have an impact on you every day. There are apps like headspace and the calm app that can help you get into a better sleeping routine or provide some restful and mindful periods during the day.

Self-care is a mind, body, and spirit thing – so add a little of each every day.
