American Flag Charcuterie Board

When it comes to hosting for the 4th of July, I’m all about putting together snacks that are fun, festive, and actually easy.

This American Flag Charcuterie Board is one of my go-to appetizers every year!

It’s super easy to assemble, full of snack options everyone loves, and it makes a statement on the table.

Ingredients

A blue star-shaped bowl filled with blueberries sits next to sliced cheddar cheese and round crackers on a red tray.

How to Assemble

A red tray with rows of sliced cheese, pepperoni, crackers, and a blue star-shaped bowl filled with blueberries.

Step 1: Start with the blueberries.
Fill your star-shaped blue bowl with fresh blueberries and place it in the upper left corner of your red platter. This is your “stars” section of the flag and gives that bold blue pop you need to pull the whole look together.

Step 2: Build the stripes.
Right next to the blueberry bowl, I start by laying out a full line of cheddar cheese slices across the top to begin the flag’s stripes.

Under that, I place a row of baked crackers, making sure they line up neatly. Next comes a row of pepperoni, giving a pop of red.

Then I mix up the cheeses—Swiss, Colby Jacks, and Pepper Jack slices—to create another layer of variety and flavor.

Finish the bottom with another layer of crackers to even things out and give everyone something to pair with the cheese.

Tips

  • Use cracker-cut cheese trays – They save so much time and give you a great mix of textures and colors.
  • Keep it chilled – If you’re setting this outside, keep the cheese in the fridge until right before serving or set the platter over a chilled tray.

  • Customize the “stripes” – Add in strawberries, cherry tomatoes, or even red bell pepper strips if you want to mix in some fresh produce.
  • Don’t stress about perfection – The idea is to capture the flag-inspired look while keeping it fun and snackable!
