Bachelorette Season 17 Episode 4 Recap: Katie Says “Get Out”
It is week 4 of Katie Thurston’s journey for love and the drama continues! From in-house conflicts to surprise guests, this episode has it all! There will be spoilers ahead in this The Bachelorette season 17 episode 4 recap!

The Next Bachelor
The drama from last week continues. Check out the episode 3 Bachelorette recap to catch up!
Thomas admitted to wanting to be the next Bachelor. However, now that he has a connection with Katie he says he is just here for her.
However, since admitting that he did not come here for the right reasons, the other guys are not convinced he changed. The other contestants still do not trust him and many of them want him to go home. Quartney even says, “I thought he was a good dude, but really he’s just a good talker.”
Katie Thurston’s Group Date
Katie invites Christian, Mike, Conor C., Tre, Andrew S., Josh, Andrew M., and Greg on a group date. This date is all about having fun and being daring. The guys work in teams to play Truth or Dare!
Greg whispered about the 50 states, Tre waxes his butt, and Mike eats a whole tray of Twinkies. The grand finale is that all of the guys have to eat hot peppers and then propose to Katie through their spicy tears.
Fans will remember this date from Tayshia Adams’ season of The Bachelorette, but it is still lots of fun!
During the later part of the date, Andrew S. surprises Katie with a Taco Bell platter, and I am jealous. More importantly, Katie tells Greg Grippo “I’m starting to fall for you.”
Meanwhile, the guys are still talking about Thomas and Tre wants to tell Katie about the situation. Andrew S. thinks telling Katie about Thomas is a bad ideas because it will just upset her, but Tre thinks she needs to know.
With his one-on-one time with Katie, Tre tells her that Thomas is not here for her. Tre calls Thomas “very manipulative” and tells Katie about Thomas’ desire to be the next Bachelor.
Katie Has A Visitor
Tayshia Adams comes to Katie’s room and tells her that, “Someone from my past” wants to meet her.
Katie goes to meet this mysterious gentleman and *surprise* it’s Blake Moynes from Clare and Tayshia’s season of The Bachelorette!
Blake tells Katie, “You intrigued me” and that he really thinks they would be good together. Katie voices her hesitation about his return. She mentions that Blake has dated 2 other Bachelorettes, but he assures her that if he stays and they connect well “We will be engaged at the end of this.”
One factor to note is that Katie and Blake have spoken before via Instagram DMs, but this is their first time meeting in person.
Torn between giving Blake and chance and maintaining her current relationships, Katie has a lot to think about. She doesn’t want to ruin her connections with any of the original contestants by allowing Blake to join. Reflecting on the Thomas situation, Katie admits that she really liked him and was picturing hometowns with him.
Time For The Cocktail Party
As the guys gather for the cocktail party, they comment that they have not seen Thomas for a few hours. Suddenly, we see Thomas knocking on Katie’s door. The two sit down to talk and have a very intense conversation.
Thomas tells her that the other guys in the house do not know his intentions and that he wants to be with her. Still unsure about him, Katie tells him that she will see him at the rose ceremony.
The Bachelorette Rose Ceremony
Thomas arrives late to the cocktail party and tells the guys he just spoke to Katie. All of the other guys are angry with him for taking extra time with her. Because of Thomas’ conversation with Katie, she is late as well. She apologizes and begins the night.
During the party, the rest of the guys keep bringing up Thomas and it frustrates Katie. Noticing how much pressure Katie is under, Michael A takes his time to distract her from the drama. If last week weren’t proof enough, these two are cute together.
Now it is time for the rose ceremony. Just kidding! Thomas interrupts to apologize to Katie and the guys for everything that has been going on.
Katie gives a rose to Hunter, Greg, Justin, Brendan, Andrew S., Aaron, Mike P., James, Josh, Quartney, and Andrew M. Then she says Thomas’ name! *Gasp* As he steps forward to accept a rose, Katie steps back away from him.
Katie says, “Your Bachelor audition ends tonight, so get out” and she sends him home. Goodbye Thomas!
Thomas, David, Christian, and Conor C. all go home tonight.
After the rose ceremony, Katie surprises a very sleepy Blake in his hotel room. She asks him to officially join the show and he accepts, so now there is another guy in the house!
Next week, we will see more drama as Blake officially joins the cast. Also, it looks like Hunter will be the next guy to stir the pot.
