Top Brunch Places in Chicago For Everyone

As someone who’s been a Chicago native for the past 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to get my fair share of the best food in the country. While I may be a little biased, especially on the pizza, I know good food when I see (or taste!) it. Something Chicago is very well known for is their brunch. In this article, I’ll be sharing some of my top picks for the best Insta-worthy food!

Stax Café – 1401 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60607

A popular eatery for students who attend the University of Illinois at Chicago is Stax Café. From eggs benedict to waffle bites, and even a build your own bagel option, Stax is the place to be every Sunday morning. My go-to is their chocolate French toast with cherry vanilla compote, so tasty! Still not convinced? They’ve been Michelin-rated since 2013!

Blue Door Farm Stand – 2010 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614

Right off of Armitage, is the Blue Door Farm Stand. Specializing in more than just brunch, this cozy restaurant has so much to offer! Their drink menu is their specialty as well as their seasonal hot chocolate and Bloody Mary bar! My go-to is Ava’s Egg White Omelet, but they have so many options ranging from sweet to savory.

Jar Bar – 1350 Shermer Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062

If you ever find yourself in the Chicago suburbs, Jar Bar is the place to be! Specializing in meals and sides that can be fit into jars, it’s perfect for any sized appetite, big or small. From overnight oats to avocado toast, Jar Bar has it all! Hungry for more? Take one of their cake jars for the road!

Prairie Grass Café – 601 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook, IL 60062

Another suburban favorite of mine is Prairie Grass Café. Prairie Grass specializes in both the classics as well as unique takes, and they’re always switching up the specials menu! My go-to is their raspberry anglaise lemon ricotta pancakes. If you’re feeling something savory, however, look no further than their smoked salmon eggs benedict!

Lula Cafe – 2537 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

For those looking for more vegetarian options, check out Lula Cafe. This amazing brunch place focuses on doing farm-to-table with their fresh variety of options. They break the stigma with flavorful vegetarian food options with their tasty menu with a wide variety. My personal favorite is the vegetable tofu scramble, which has a tangy oriental taste to it. And if you’re looking a non-vegetarian option, the rabbit risotto is a must.

Beatrix – 519 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654

This rustic brunch place located in River North is a great place for anyone. With their attached hotel there’s an abundance of tourists but business men and clubs of women fill the space. Their infamous cocktail menu is great but they also offer healthier options like juicers. My go-to is the egg and pork sandwich, which is probably enough to feed two people. They also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, so everyone can be satisfied.

Overall, Chicago, as well as its bordering suburbs, has so much to offer in the name of food. If you ever happen to find yourself in the Windy City, hopefully, you’ll be able to find yourself at one of these brunch locations!
