Bold Runway Lip Trends Spring 2014

Get ready to bust out your lipsticks because Spring is all about letting your lips do the talking (pun intended).  The best part about the Spring runways this year?  There’s a lip trend for every woman and every mood.  You could go bare with a touch of lip balm, but where’s the fun in that? Look at it as a blessing in disguise – you can cut corners on the rest of your makeup and just run out the door in a banging lip color.  Win.

Neon Orange

There wasn’t an over arching trend, but one that you must pay attention to is the bright orange lip.  It may sound intimidating, but it literally gives you a face lift, plastic surgeon not required.  Just keep the rest of your face minimal, think fresh skin and a swipe of mascara.  Orange is for the traffic stopping trend setter.

Rich Caramel

This Color is for that sophisticated lady.  Not girl, not woman, lady.  You know the one.  She glides into a room in that perfect tailored dress and not a hair out of place.  I imagine she gets her chair pulled out for her at every table and the door held open for her by every admirer, and she has many of those.

Cherry Red

Ah, the classic red lip.  It really never goes out of style.  For Spring, tweak it a little by avoiding those rich reds with blue undertones and go for the vibrant cherry red.  I would steer towards one that has an semi matte finish, no shine needed here.

Bubblegum Pink

For your super girly moods, reach for this fun pastel pink.  This look isn’t for date night, but you can count on it to be the life of the conversation during girls’ night.  It’s time to get your inner Nicki Minaj on, I know you all have it in you (I do!).

Raspberry Kiss

If you haven’t heard, Pantone has dubbed “Radiant Orchid” as the color of 2014, and sure enough, it even appeared on the runways.  Remember the wine stained puckers from Fall?  This Spring, we’re on an alcohol cleanse, so pass the raspberries over.
