Book Club November 2016: Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore
Just a reminder: We have started a Book Club here at Sarah Scoop! We hope you are as excited as we are about this new adventure we are going on!
It might be a bit touch and go as we begin. Our hope is that after we get the ball rolling a bit, we can start doing book based giveaways and hosting interviews with the authors of the books we read!
Here’s a reminder of how it will work:
- On the first Thursday of every month (or somewhere around that time), we will announce the book of the month.
- On the first Tuesday of every month (or somewhere around that time), we will do a post about how we felt about the book and ask for comments from all of you about it too!
We also want to know what you want to read. If you have any suggestions, shout it out and let us know! We are so excited to hear from you. Don’t be afraid to interact with us because this is a book club after all! We want you all to be just as much a part of it as we are.
So, without further ado, here’s our pick of the month:
MR. PENUMBRA’S 24 HOUR BOOKSTORE
Before I get into the summary, there’s a fun fact about this book: THE COVER GLOWS IN THE DARK. I’m not kidding. You need to get this book and try it!
SUMMARY: Clay is a single guy living in San Francisco. He ends up working in a bookstore that isn’t actually what it seems to be. It ends up being the front for a secret society of book lovers! It’s a mystery as Clay tries to figure out what is going on and connect the dots. It’s been said that the book is essentially the realistic, adult version of Harry Potter! Who else is excited for that?
GENRE: Adult Fiction
You should be able to find this novel online or in any major bookstore. If you have any problems, don’t be afraid to shout it out and ask! We can’t wait to start this journey with you! Let’s get to reading!
