Bridgerton Season 2: What We Know So Far

From drama to romance and stunning gowns in between, Bridgerton on Netflix has something for everyone! Fan’s of Netflix’s smash hit drama series are eagerly awaiting season 2! After its premier this past Christmas, the show became a fast success!

Thanks to insight from Us Weekly, here is the scoop on everything we know about season 2 of Bridgerton!

All About Bridgerton

Netflix’s period drama Bridgerton is widely successful. Ity focuses on the story of the Bridgerton family living in high-society during the Regency era. The cast features Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Phoebe Dynevor, Florence Hunt, Will Tilston, Ruth Gemmell, and Luke Thompson.

The show’s first season focuses mainly on the family’s oldest sister named Daphne-played by Phoebe Dynevor- and her relationship with Simon Basses, the most eligible bachelor in London.

While the show has definitely been renewed for a second season, rumors circulated before the confirmation. Also, filming for the second season is scheduled to begin in march.

The show’s success alone is enough to justify a second season. It reached more than 63 million households and fans are still talking about it now.

Ready For Season 2

Back in December 2020 Nicola Caughlan who plays Penelope Featherington, spoke to Variety saying, “It’s a real joy to make and the response has been beyond our wildest dreams. But until the Netflix gods come down and bless us, we don’t know.”

Since the show is based on Julia Quinn’s book series, show creator Chris Van Dusen is hoping to take the show in a similar direction. The books allow each main family member the chance to be the focus and Van Dusen wants to do the same. In December of 2020, Van Dusen told Cosmopolitan UK, “Obviously we’re just focused on the first season right now. And while that focuses on the eldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne and her love affair with Simon, we know there are eight Bridgerton siblings [and] there are eight Bridgerton books,”

He further explained, “So, in success I would love to be able to explore love stories and romances for all the Bridgerton brothers and sisters, of course.”
