Kansas City: Celebrate the 4th of July with Patrón at KC Riverfest
If you’re in Kansas City for the 4th of July make sure you check out KC Riverfest. KC Riverfest is THE premiere Independence Day celebration in Kansas City, located along the beautiful Missouri Riverfront at Berkley Riverfront Park from 4 – 10 p.m. on July 4th. Adult tickets are only $5 and kids 12 and under are free.
There will be live music, fireworks and best of all Patrón. That’s right Patrón Tequila is coming to Kansas City to celebrate the 4th and they will be rolling (literally, a bar on wheels) into KC Riverfest.
Guests will be greeted with Patrón’s interactive touchscreen ordering system and take a little “Quizlet,” to help them determine their perfect drink. Bartenders will be featuring a custom Kansas City cocktail – the BBQ Smoked Margarita, which is Kansas City in a glass! How cool is it that they made a cocktail just for us?!
In advance of this summer’s tour, Patrón’s bartender team conducted deep research that analyzed consumer behavior in 100 different markets across the country, Kansas City included. Using insights gathered from FourSquare and social media listening tools, the team identified patterns around the most commonly ordered libations in that city – Kansas Citians love spicy, citrusy, and of course smoky cocktails.
Here is the BBQ Smoked Margarita Recipe: A smoky summer is a good thing in Kansas City and this drink incorporates that trending flavor profile with classic margarita flavors and a BBQ rub rim that hits all of the local favorites in one glass.
- 1.5 oz Patron Reposado
- 0.5 oz Patron Citronge Lime
- 0.5 oz lime juice
- 0.5 oz agave syrup (1:1)
- 3 drops of liquid smoke
- 1:1 BBQ Rub/Salt rim
In a shaker tin, Patrón drink experts will add all ingredients and ice and shake. They strain over fresh rocks and garnish with a lime wheel with salted BBQ rub dusting. Trust me, it’s going to taste delicious at KC Riverfest.
After you grab your drink, bartenders will guide you to an interactive GIF booth where you can capture your moments and share via social media. They will also have Patrón-infused popsicles! A tasty treat in the summer heat.
Patrón Tequila definitely did their research when it came to making the perfect drink for Kansas City locals to enjoy at KC RiverFest. They personalized it just for us and did the same thing for other cities around the country. They crafted 30 new tequila cocktails using a range of Patrón expressions – all of them perfected to match the cities where Patrón will be bringing its cocktail experience throughout the summer.
