If you’re a chocolate and peanut butter lover (like me!), then these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are about to be your new favorite treat.
They’re rich, creamy, and packed with the perfect balance of flavors. The best part? You don’t even have to turn on the oven!
Just a few simple steps, and you’ll have a delicious no-bake dessert that everyone will love.
Ingredients
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 cup peanut butter
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- Optional: chocolate chips for garnish
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients
Before we dive in, gather everything—you’ll want everything measured and ready to go.
These bars come together quickly, so prepping ahead makes the process easier.
Step 2: Make the Peanut Butter Base
In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, confectioners’ sugar, melted butter, and 1 cup of peanut butter.
Stir until everything is well combined and forms a slightly thick, crumbly dough.
Step 3: Press Into the Pan
Grab a 9×13-inch pan (no need to grease it) and press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the bottom.
Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to make sure it’s smooth and packed down.
Step 4: Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and 4 tablespoons of peanut butter.
Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 1-2 minutes total.
Step 5: Spread & Swirl
Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the peanut butter base and spread it evenly with a spatula.
If you want that marbled effect, use a knife or toothpick to swirl the chocolate a bit.
For extra texture and crunch, sprinkle chocolate chips on top before the chocolate sets.
Step 6: Chill & Slice
Pop the pan into the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let everything firm up.
Once set, cut into 12 squares (or smaller if you want bite-sized pieces) and enjoy!
Tips for the Best Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
- For cleaner slices: Run your knife under warm water before cutting to get smooth, even edges.
- Want extra crunch? Use crunchy peanut butter instead of smooth for a little texture in the base.
- Make it fancier: Drizzle some melted peanut butter or extra chocolate on top for a pretty finish.
- Don’t have a microwave? You can melt the chocolate and peanut butter over a double boiler on the stove.
How to Store Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
- Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- Freezer: Want to save some for later? Wrap bars individually in plastic wrap, place them in a freezer-safe bag, and freeze for up to 3 months. Let them sit at room temp for a few minutes before eating.
