The Sarah Scoop Show hosted Christi Lukasiak of “Dance Moms” fame for a Facebook Live event! We got the scoop on Christi’s most memorable moments from the show, her daughters’ different interests, and how the show affected her marriage.
Time Flies
It’s been ten years since Christi first appeared on the hit show “Dance Moms”. When asked about the past decade, Christi made us a little emotional.
“It feels like I’m old, but then it feels like no time has passed…How could that have been so long ago? It was such a big part of our lives. It really was life changing…It’s just odd to think about. What’s really funny is that I have Chloe who’s now 18. She’s be 19 at the end of this month which is bizarre in and of itself. But my little one, Clara, was actually one when the show premiered. Now she’s actually the same age Chloe was when the show started. It’s like this whole weird thing going on in my life. It’s like wait, you were a baby and now your living on the other side of the country. It’s been quite a journey.”

At Odds
Being on a reality show often puts great stress on the families involved. This was no different for Christi and her husband while she and her daughters were away filming for around seven weeks every year.
“I’ll be totally honest. It was hard at the beginning. We definitely didn’t see eye to eye. He did not want me to do the show, and I just kept saying ‘No, I think this is going to be something special. I think this is going to be something cool’. And he was very against it. Those early season were really hard on both of us because we were away, Chloe and I…He came to terms with it, and it worked out. We’re fine now. But it got a little nerve wracking for a moment.”

Who could forget all of those crazy fights on “Dance Moms”? Well, we just had to find out which fight was the most memorable for Christi.
“I was always in the middle of a fight because I can’t keep my mouth shut. My street fight in New Orleans. Like not many people have that on their resume. Not proud. Probably my least proud moment…I think that was kind of one of the reasons why fans connected with me because I always said what I was thinking, and it was usually what they were thinking. And I never took it too seriously.”

Swim vs. Dance
Christi’s two daughters, Clara and Chloe, may look alike, but they have very different interests! Christi gave us the scoop on her daughter, Clara, who is basically a little mermaid.
“I think that because Clara kind of grew up in this world, she was always Chloe’s little sister…and if you know Clara, she is nobody’s anything. She is her own little person. And I think she was just like ‘Eh, not for me!’ She has beautiful feet which hurt me deep in my heart that she won’t dance. We tried to make her dance, but she literally hated it. Hated it! I think I just had to respect the fact that my kids are different. We took her out of dance. She’s an amazing swimmer. It’s so much more chill. Oh my god, Sarah. I just sit there, and I’m like ‘Oh this is glorious!’
