Dark Chocolate Cherry Bark
This recipe is the perfect dessert “replacement”. Dark chocolate bark is still a dessert, but with a bit of a healthy twist.
Dark chocolate is really rich in antioxidants, so I use that an as excuse to have dessert! It’s overall honestly not that bad for you, so if you’re looking for a healthier alternative than your typical cookie or brownie. This bark is delicious enough to eat as a dessert, but won’t leave you feeling bloated or guilty.
Other ingredients like, almonds, dried cherries, and hearty granola also give added health benefits. Almonds are a great source of healthy fats, cherries provide you with a plethora of health benefits like; anti-aging, facilitates weight loss, relieves insomnia, etc. Lastly, granola 9the right kind) can be sweet and tasty and have high fiber.
INGREDIENTS FOR DARK CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARK:
1 bag of dark chocolate chips
1/3 cups of dried cherries
1/3 cup of granola
1/4 cup of slivered almonds
HOW TO MAKE DARK CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARK:
First, melt the chocolate chips in a bowl, microwaving them for 30 seconds at a time until they are shiny. Then stir it.
Then line a baking dish with parchment paper.
Next, pour the chocolate into the dish and top with granola, dried cherries and almonds.
Lastly, refrigerate the bark for at least an hour, (or more) and then break it up in to pieces.
