In the first scene of the movie, there is a mother and her two cubs who follow her every move. There are plenty of adorable moments to make us love these cute fluffballs even more; however, the focus is on the female cub and her imaginative thoughts through Catherine’s narration. The female cub learns to mimic her mother’s actions when hunting for seals and escaping from danger.

But we can all agree that childhood is an extraordinary adventure that is also filled with relaxing and playful moments, especially when you have a sibling or two. This film effortlessly shows the beauty of youth and the awarding moments that makes life worth it.

This Disney movie depicts the natural growth of the cubs as they walk across the diverse landscapes of the Arctic. The familiar chapter in life marking independence translates over to the animals as the young female bear experiences loneliness without her mother. Polar Bear doesn’t fail to exhibit the unpleasant and beautiful parts of a polar bear’s life in today’s world. The sound effects flawlessly piece together every scene from the calming oriental music to the crunch of the ice as they dip their heads into the water.

The Disney movie meticulously places scenes together to create a spectrum of emotions. James Ewen and Rolf Steinmann capture intimate views of the animals from nearly every angle to portray the peace and conflict during their life. The landscapes help give viewers an idea of the Arctic of today.

Even though Polar Bear is a Disney film, there is a call to make an effort to save the animals and the ice. Throughout the film, the directors, Alastair Fothergill and Jeff Wilson add scenes where the family struggles to find a food source. The narrator also includes lines from the female cub’s point of view when food becomes scarce.
