DIY Dry Erase Disney Countdown

Counting down to something special? Boy do we have the perfect Disney craft for you! Today’s DIY is a simple craft that only takes a few minutes and costs a few dollars to make. Seriously, that’s it. Just a couple dollars and a few minutes of time. Enjoy this super cute Disney DIY that makes the days leading to your trip or special event that much more fun.

Here are the steps to make your own DIY Dry Erase Disney Countdown.

What You Will Need:

STEP 1. Get frame

Get your desired picture frame and a piece of printable paper in the appropriate size. I got my frame at the $1 store and was happy with it. You could also paint or decorate your frame or buy whatever design or color fits your preference. Set aside for later.

STEP 2. Get your Disney font

I went to dafont.com. They have tons of free fonts and I use them on a regular basis. In the search bar, I typed “Disney” and then selected one that I liked. Feel free to use whatever font you like best- the choices are endless! Download and install the font to your computer. The process on how to do this varies, so search how to install a new font on your specific computer. It only takes a second.

STEP 3. Open Word and type your text

Open a new Word document and type your desired text. I did a simple “(blank) Days Until Disney” but you can personalize it however you like. (Ex: (blank) And Counting Until the Smith Family Vacation!) Just be sure to leave an empty spot at the beginning for the number of days you’ll be counting down.

STEP 4. Decorate

Add design elements like Disney pictures. You can also adjust the size and color of your text and the placement of the words. I centered my text and added shadowing and a border. For full detail of how to do this, just search online. This is where your creativity comes in. Have fun with it! I chose a simple Mickey picture to add, but feel free to go wild!

STEP 5. Print paper

This step is simple. Once you’re happy with your design, print it out.

STEP 6. Put paper in frame

You may have to trim your paper or tape it into place like I did in order to have it fit correctly.

STEP 7. Write

Finally, use a dry erase marker to write how many days are left. The glass from the frame acts as a dry erase board!

STEP 8. Enjoy

Let the countdown begin! Hang it up on the wall or place it on the mantle- wherever works best for you and your tribe. This DIY Countdown is great for kids to do daily. It’s fun and exciting to change the number every day. Let them take turns writing the number of days left and watch their excitement grow!

And that’s it! A super simple DIY Disney Countdown perfect to help keep track of how many days are left until your special event. Make sure to let us know what you’re counting down to in the comments!
