Easy, Fudgy, And Chocolatey Homemade Brownies
Look no further for the perfect fudgy and chocolatey brownie. These brownies are simple to make and delicious to eat!
As a big dessert person, I am always craving something sweet after my meals. I, therefore, try to make sure that my pantry is always stocked with some chocolate chip cookies and that my freezer is always filled with cartons of vanilla ice cream. But, on the off chance that I do not have the sustenance to sustain my dessert habit, I have a few quick dessert recipes that I can turn to. I like recipes that are quick to make but still rich in flavor. I love making ice cream in a jar or five-ingredient tiramisu as last-minute options. And, I recently discovered how to make the most simple yet tasty brownies!
These brownies are seriously delicious. I often find that homemade brownies can be too cakey or not very chocolatey. But this is not the case here. They are dense and fudgy, just like I love them. In addition, with minimal flour and extra chocolate chips, they are undeniably flavorful. And the best part is… they are super easy to make! I can whip this delicious dessert together at a moment’s notice.
To make these brownies, all you need is one bowl and a minimal number of utensils! Besides, you probably already have all the necessary ingredients in your cupboard. There is no excuse to not make these. So, next time you are craving dessert, skip the boxed mix, and impress your friends and family with a fresh batch of homemade brownies!
Let’s talk about the ingredients that you will need:
Butter – This recipe calls for half of a cup (or one stick) of melted, unsalted butter. There is no need to take the butter out of the fridge before hand and wait while it warms to room temperature. Just melt the butter and throw it in your bowl. The warmth will help dissolve the sugar.
Sugar – Depending on how sweet you want your brownies to be, you can use anywhere between half of a cup to a full cup of white sugar. I used 3/4 of a cup and my brownies turned out perfectly.
Cocoa powder – Unsweetened cocoa powder is key. Instead of relying on flour, the 1/2 cup of cocoa powder is the bulk of the dry ingredients. It makes your brownies dense and fudgy!
Eggs – You will need two eggs.
Vanilla extract – I like to add vanilla to all my baked goods. A little (around 2 teaspoons) goes a long way.
Flour – You only need half of a cup of all-purpose flour for this recipe.
Salt – Add a few pinches of salt to bring out the flavor. In addition, I like to sprinkle some flakes of salt on top of my batter before I put it in the oven. Salt and chocolate go very well together.
Chocolate chips – While these are optional, I would highly recommended. The more chocolate the merrier!
The steps:
As I stated above, you really only need one bowl for this recipe. After preheating the oven to 350 degrees F, melt your butter. You can even melt your butter in a large baking bowl and then simply incorporate the rest of your ingredients.
Next, add your sugar and cocoa powder. Mix to dissolve everything before adding your eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla.
Third, pour in the flour and the salt. Mix just enough to combine everything.
Lastly, add your chocolate chips. You can also add nuts or dried fruit. Make these brownies your own!
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan. I used a 8.5 x 4.5 inch baking pan for thicker brownies. Bake for 20 – 23 minutes. Make sure you don’t over bake.
And that’s it. No fancy ingredients, separate bowls, or niche kitchenware needed. So let’s get baking!
