Easy to Follow Summer Makeup Tutorial
With only a few days left until the official first day of summer, it’s the perfect time for all makeup junkies to gather their bright eye shadows, bronzers, and shimmering lip glosses and take their creative look to the next level. When the temperature rises, so should your highlighter! We all look for that sun-kissed glowing look with minimal makeup application.
Remember, great makeup starts with skincare. I highly recommend treating your skin even more during the summer as this will eliminate extreme breakouts and sun damage. Most makeup artists agree on the importance of exfoliating and adding sunscreen into your routine.
Brow Powder
When it comes to brows, powder is better than pomade or a pencil during hot weather. It’s not too heavy or harsh on the skin, but it blends well. Easily filling in where your fine hairs left off, finish it with a concealer for cleaner appearance.
Tinted Moisturizer
Replacing your foundation with a tinted moisturizer during the summertime is the way to go. When I tell you it feels like nothing is there, believe me. Most are softer and lighter on the skin, but are also formulated with SPF, which is crucial. Giving you sheer coverage, applying a moisturizer will enhance your complexion, balance dark spots, and blur out fine lines and blemishes. Choose one that works with your skin type, especially if you have oily skin. The perfect moisturizer for all skin types is Nars. Your skin will look natural while absorbing excess oil. The prefect beauty tool for this is a beauty blender as it will melt the product into your skin effortlessly.
Glossy Eyelid
One of my favorite things to do when creating a summer look is a neutral color glossy lid. Apply a soft eye-shadow color as a base- orange, blush, or tan and blend it out. Then grab a never been used clear lipgloss and gently dab all over your eye lid. No need to blend with any brush.
Bronzer
Yes, you want to contour your face to achieve a golden glow. Apply bronzer where the sun usually hits: your jawline. cheekbones, forehead, and nose. A bronzer is a great way to make your skin look radiant, especially in the sunlight. I highly suggest using a angled contour brush for this step.
Shimmering Lip Gloss
Many brands have a variety of lip gloss with a shiny, light-reflective finish. Focus on a gloss with a shimmer effect. Below are a few of my favorites, the best of the best:
