Everyday Soft Glam Makeup Tutorial

If anybody knows a good soft glam look it’s Mario Dedivanovic. Starting as a Sephora employee, Mario built his platform on brand partnerships, makeup master classes, and, let’s not forget, becoming Kim Kardashian’s MUA. The idea of creating a soft glam like Mario’s is neutral makeup application with an overall glow. Here are 9 steps to achieve it.

Step 1: Eyebrows

Starting with a clean face, I use a drug store brand, NYX, eyebrow pencil in the shade dark brown. After filling in, I carefully underline my brow with a concealer for a neat appearance.

Step 2: Eyes: Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, & Lashes

Using my fingers, I apply a warm orange shade as a base. Then, I lightly apply a darker shade in a similar color on the creases to make a v-shape. Using more than two colors defeats the purpose of a soft look. Once my eyeshadow is complete, I use Fenty Beauty fly-liner. I finish it off with True Valoure lashes in the style Kind Hearted.

Step 3: Primer

For this step, I use Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer. I love it because it’s universal for all skin types and great for long wear.

Step 4: Concealer

I apply concealer before my foundation. This is just a preference. Always use a shade or two lighter than your foundation shade for a natural glow. Apply this under your eyes, along your nose, chin, and the center of your forehead. Make sure to blend this generously so it’s not too light.

Step 5: Full Coverage Foundation

A very simple step: apply your full coverage foundation with gentle strokes. Since I am a Fenty fan, I use her popular Pro Filt’r Soft Matte foundation in shade tint 460.

Step 6: Contour

I use Fenty Beauty Match Stix in the shade Espresso. I contour the sides and tip of my nose to add definition. Because I have a round face, I also the contour my cheek bones, jawline, and forehead.

Step 7: Setting Powder

Focusing on my t-zone, I apply a loose powder to set my concealer and foundation. For this, I use Pro Filt’r Setting Powder from Fenty Beauty in shade Nutmeg. I’m in love with smell (OMG), plus it’s super weightless and perfect for long makeup wear.

Step 8: Lips

For a fuller look, I use a medium brown NYX lip-liner to outline my lips. Next, I put on a matte nude lipstick from Anastasia Beverly Hills, finishing it off with a clear lip gloss from any local drug store.

Step 9: Highlighter

You can dust a bit of highlighter on your cheeks. I also add some on the inner corner of my eyes and brow bone. I used Becca Cosmetics in the color Chocolate Geode.
