Colton initially appeared as a contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette. He later starred in his own season of The Bachelor. On his season, Colton met Cassie Randolph and the two dated until May 2020.

Unfortunately, the relationships end was very messy and Cassie even got a restraining order against Colton, but later dropped it.

So, Colton shocked Bachelor fans on Wednesday, April 14 while appearing in an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. In the interview, the former bachelor reveals that he is gay.

Colton says, “I’ve ran from myself for a long time, I’ve hated myself for a long time. I’m gay and I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it.”

After his coming out on Good Morning America, Colton Underwood is now working on a Netflix series that will follow his journey. Us Weekly confirms that the series will also feature Olympic athlete and freestyle skier, Gus Kenworthy.

Kenworthy has reportedly been helping Underwood in his coming out journey. Gus himself is familiar with the reality of being an openly gay athlete, having shared his sexuality in a 2015 ESPN interview.

In 2018, Gus told Us Weekly, “After I came out, that weight was lifted off my shoulders, and now I’m so happy to be here, competing as my authentic self, at the Olympics as an openly gay athlete. I think the Olympics are a time for the world to come together and put aside differences, but we’re also coming to represent ourselves, our communities and our countries, so I think it’s important to stand up and be a voice.”

Gus has also been seen out with Colton and Colton’s dad, Scott, while filming for the upcoming reality show. The New York Posts’ Page Six captured photos of the three men out in New York City filming for the show.

So even thou Netflix is yet to confirm the series, it appears to be in the works. Will you be watching Colton’s journey? Comment below!
