A First Look at B&B Theatres’ New MX4D Auditorium

MX4D by MediaMation has just arrived at B&B Theaters Shawnee 18!  This MX4D auditorium is the ultimate four-dimensional moviegoing experience that is the first of its kind in the Midwest.  After viewing Annabelle: Creation in this one of a kind theater, I was completely blown away by the technology and authenticity of the MX4D auditorium, and would highly recommend that you all try it out!

From the moment I walked into the auditorium, I knew that this movie experience would be completely different from anything that I’d ever seen.  This auditorium had so many unique features, but the coolest of these had to be the chairs.  These chairs can move, poke and jab, spray both wind and water, and even dispense certain scents to go along with the action of the movie.  My personal favorite feature of the chairs was the leg tickler, because not only did it surprise me, but it made the action of the horror movie about 1,000 times scarier.  Prior to my first experience in the auditorium, I had assumed that the 4D effects would be distracting during the film, but the exact opposite was true.  The movement of the chairs went along perfectly with what was happening on screen; I felt like I was actually in the movie!  In addition to the incredible seats, the auditorium features strobe lights, snow, rain and bubbles.

Vice president of Development, Brock Bagby said of the project, “You cannot recreate this experience anywhere else. We continue to innovate and give our customers several [viewing] formats”.  B&B Theaters never ceases to impress and I cannot wait to see what exciting new projects they’ll come up with in the future.

When planning your next movie night, make sure to check out the MX4D auditorium at B&B Theaters Shawnee 18.  You do not want to miss out on this incredible moviegoing experience!
