A First Look at the Kia Stinger #StingerIsHere

Recently, I got the chance to head to California with Kia.  I had so much fun learning about and test driving the Kia Stinger.  The Kia Stinger is expected to arrive in Kia dealers this December (let the countdown begin).  It is the highest-performance production vehicle in the company’s history and trust me it’s amazing.

Kia will offer the Stinger in five trim levels – Stinger, Stinger Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2.  It is a luxury vehicle that is affordably priced.

  • Stinger starts at $31,900
  • Stinger Premium starts at $37,1002
  • GT starts at $38,3502
  • GT1 starts at $43,2502
  • GT2 starts at $49,2002
  • All-wheel drive:  $2,200
  • Destination: $900

“The Stinger is a prime example of Kia’s commitment to surpassing consumers’ expectations in everything we do,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning, KMA. “Although the Stinger is unlike any other Kia that has come before it in terms of pure driving enjoyment, it is still very much a traditional Kia in that it offers consumers a very compelling value proposition, providing excellent performance and handling, premium features and functionality when compared to its much higher-priced competitors.”

The Kia Stinger was honestly so much fun to drive and I was highly impress with the overall quality of the vehicle.  It goes 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.  I had the chance to test out the speed on the autocross that Kia had set up for us and I can’t believe how much of a speed racer I became. 🙂 At first I was a little nervous, what if I hit the cone or run off the track?!  My nerves disappeared after one lap around.  I was so comfortable and confident driving the Stinger.  I took quick turns, I drove fast, I slowed down and the car adjusted.  The Kia Stinger drives like a dream!

We drove it around the Hollywood Hills and even stopped by the Brady Bunch house for a quick photo.  It did great on the hills, highway and through the neighborhood cruise.

The Kia Stinger is so advanced.  It has everything from comfort to style and all of the technology you could ever hope for in a luxury sports vehicle.

A few of my favorite things about the Kia Stinger:

The Kia Stinger was created with you in mind.  This is a quality vehicle that is created for the customer. There is a 55% advanced high strength steel used on it along with other other advancements.  As the driver you are just as comfortable as the passengers. You’ll always have fun taking it for a spin.

The Kia Stinger is roomie.  When they say it seats 5 comfortably, its true!

The Kia Stinger competes.  Check out the comparisons.

The Stinger drives smooth.  We drove it all over California and even with the different road textures it still drove so smooth.

The Kia Stinger is safe. Front camera, rain sensor, auto defog sensor, ultrasonic rear sensors, front radar, rear camera…the list goes on and on! All about safety + comfort, can’t get any better than that!

The Kia Stinger is ideal anywhere you live. It is designed to handle extreme environments. Including the use of an engine oil cooler + transmission oil cooler.

The Kia Stinger has 5 distinct settings:

  1. Smart – automatic adjustment mode
  2. Eco – fuel-saving mode
  3. Comfort – default base mode
  4. Sport – dynamic performance mode
  5. Custom – tailored driving mode
