A Weekend Tour Guide of Things to do In Los Angeles, CA
I am fortunate enough to attend college in the beautiful and diverse city of Los Angeles, California. The past four years, I have learned the ins and outs of this city and have discovered some of my absolute favorite places to go. I decided to make a guide containing things you should do if you come to the “city of angels.”
Where To Stay?
Located right in the heart of West LA, the Farmer’s Daughter hotel emerges you directly into the LA scene. Farmer’s Daughter offers free wifi on-site dining, and a year-round outside pool at which you can soak up the California sun.
Farmer’s Daughter is only a two minute walk from shopping and entertainment center, The Grove, which is one of my favorite places to walk around and shop. It is also only a short walk from CBS studios and tons of restaurants!
Where To Eat?
You can’t really come to LA and not at least try Pinks Hot Dogs. It is located in Hollywood and has been in the same location for 76 years! Fox news named Pinks as the number one hot dog stand in the US and their hotdogs are one of LA’s most iconic dishes. Be prepared for a long line, though!
Langers
Langer’s, the classic and legendary Jewish deli, is famous for having really good pastrami sandwiches–and I must admit, they’re pretty delicious.
They also have pretty great fries, and my favorite, soups!
Grand Central Market
Grand Central Market is the place to head if you want a snapshot of the food scene in LA. They have many vendors with many different types of food to try, I would recommend getting tacos from Tacos Tumbras A Tomas for sure, but most everything here is good!
What to do?
Last Bookstore
The Last Bookstore is one of my favorite places. They sell new and used books and records and have seats for you to hangout and do work or read. If you go upstairs, there’s even a book tunnel. The Last Bookstore is located right in the middle of Downtown, LA.
Hit The Beaches
There are many beaches you could scoop out on your stay in LA. My favorites are Santa Monica, Huntington, and Manhattan Beach. Make sure you check out Santa Monica Pier!
Hollywood Boulevard
It is always an experience to walk around Hollywood Boulevard and look for your favorite celebrities stars on the walk. Just be warned, it is nowhere near as glamorous as T.V. and movies make it out to be.
Theme Parks!
There are plenty of theme parks to choose from–we’ve got Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Disneyland is not too far away either. The only hard part is figuring out which one!
The truth is, LA is a huge city, full of fun and exciting things to do and beautiful places to see. It is impossible to list all of the possibilities here and impossible to do them all in just one weekend. LA is a great and unique city, you need to come see it for yourself to truly understand!
