How #HappyDeathDay Taught Me to Live Each Day Like It’s My Last

I had been dying to see Happy Death Day ever since I saw the movie trailer back in September, and after seeing it in theaters, I can gladly say that it was everything I had hoped it would be!  Even though there are many other films out there with similar plots, this one felt very different and fresh, and I would highly recommend that you see it.  On the morning of her birthday, typical college sorority girl Tree Gelbman expects to have a normal day with nothing out of the ordinary, but this is not the case.  While on her way to a party, Tree is attacked and murdered by a masked criminal, however, she doesn’t die.  Tree once again wakes up on the morning of her birthday and must relive the same day over and over again until she unmasks her killer.  Along the way, she learns to change her outlook on life and discovers the value of kindness and decency to the people around her.  Here are 5 lessons that I learned from Happy Death Day, in theaters today!

1. Live Each Day Like It’s Your Last

What would you do if today was your last day on Earth?  Whatever your answer may be, you should never put off accomplishing your goals and dreams.  If you’ve always dreamed of doing something, then go ahead and do it; there shouldn’t be anything holding you back.

2. Treat People the Way You Would Want to be Treated

It’s important to treat others with kindness and respect, no matter how difficult that might be for you.  Being a nice person will pay off in the long run, and you’ll probably make some friends out of it too.

3. Live Your Life How You Want to

Don’t let the opinions of others stop you from living your life to the fullest.  Never let anyone judge you based on the clothes that you wear, the food that you eat or the way that you live your life.  If you’re happy with your life then by all means, you do you.

4. It’s Never Too Late to Turn Things Around

If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, don’t wait to do something about it.  It’s never too late to turn your life around and become a better person.  No matter how old you may be, always stay true to yourself and keep your morals and values in check.

5. Get Rid of the Negative People in Your Life

If there’s someone in your life that’s dragging you down, try to distance yourself from them as soon as possible.  You’ll be much happier if you surround yourself with positive people who have your best interests at heart.
