Health Supplements You Should Be Considering

Well, ideally, our average diet would have absolutely everything that we need to have a healthy body in. Most of the time, we are too busy to make sure that each of our meals is nutritionally balanced. It is often recommended that we have supplements, to make up any deficits that we may have in our diet,

Most often, this will lead to questions like should I be taking supplements, and if so, what will work for me?. And we will take to the internet to find out what other people are taking, and what are the long-term benefits when we start taking multivitamins or other supplements.

Information is critical when it comes to making the decisions about what you put into your body.

  • Like how much I do you need per day?
  • Is melatonin going to help you sleep better in the evenings?
  • How can I get stronger hair?
  • Can I improve my mood?

We are incredibly lucky that we now live in a time that millions of us have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. We can eat exactly what we want, and when we like. Sometimes, convenience can give us too much choice. And that can be disastrous when we are trying to make healthy food choices more often.

After all, life is busy. And if you are running from meeting to meeting, picking up the kids after school, trying to enjoy your hobby, getting enough exercise, and sleep and so on… Sometimes a quick easy to prepare a meal might not necessarily have everything in it that we need.

If you aren’t careful about what you use in terms of personal care, cleaning items and more you can find you’re actually surrounded by a range of toxins too. Combine all of these things with high stress fast living, modern life if you will, and you kind of have a recipe for less than healthy mind and body.

Making smart decisions for our health is something that we do overtime. However, supplements and multivitamins can really make a huge difference. And there are a few that everyone can benefit from.

  • CBD capsules
  • Multivitamin
  • Vitamin D
  • Probiotics
  • Omega 3

Sometimes we just don’t have enough of the good stuff in a diet to compensate for these. And most people will also need a B12 vitamin supplement too.

Vitamin D

Our own bodies can make a vitamin d, but only when we are exposed to sunlight. Which is great-unless you work in an office or from home or live in a country that doesn’t get that much sunlight. Vitamin D is then converted to hormones in our bodies, again, this is excellent. One of the main issues is that no one really spends enough time outside if you combine that fact with over 50,000 chemical reactions in the body needing the right amount of vitamin D you can see where the problems begin.

Research has shown that somewhere in the region of 3 million people in the USA alone are deficient in this vitamin, of course, the actual rates are likely much higher. It is recommended that all parents give their children a vitamin D supplement, so this is not just an issue as you get older. You can take a vitamin D supplement that has around 5000 UI are less every day to get your levels right.

Over time you will begin to see the impact. And it is essential to note that not all multivitamins have enough vitamin D to help you combat any deficits.

Omega-3

We have known for years now the huge amount of benefits of omega-3. Omega-3 can help massively with inflammation, which is a significant source of pain, and it also helps to look after your heart too. Omega-3 is highly concentrated in the brain, which means it is essential to help you look after things like your cognition, your memory and even behaviour.

However, you should really be careful about the source you choose for your omega-3, if you are vegan some omega-3 supplements might not be for you as some of them are fish extract. And they may contain mercury levels, so you’ll need to make sure that you choose a high-quality omega-3 supplement. And both of this by using sources of omega-3 in your diet too.

CBD

Well, some people are still wary of CBD, there has been a lot of research in recent years that supports its use. CBD has been found to promote your body’s natural endocannabinoid system. This system is vital in key and is in charge of keeping your whole body imbalance-often referred to as homoeostasis.

Daily CBD capsules can help with a range of things to:

  • Blood pressure
  • Painkilling properties
  • Reduce acne and skin inflammation
  • Help you get a better night’s sleep
  • Reduce depression symptoms by working with the body’s own serotonin receptors
  • Easing anxiety

Of course, you will need to choose your thoughts wisely, read up about all of the benefits of CBD and find out about things like full-spectrum CBD or CBD isolate.

Multivitamin

Even if you eat incredibly well every day or get plenty of sunlight, and are you even having extra fruit and vegetables in your diet – they’re probably still isn’t enough. What you are best looking for is a high potency multivitamin. This will cover almost everything that your body needs. And one not everybody likes the idea of taking a multivitamin to give them more of a balance, almost everyone will feel the benefits within a couple of weeks. You will need to check the audio on the back of each label so that you can be sure of what you are getting in terms of per cent.

Some multivitamins have 100% daily intake of your iron but might only have 30% of something else.

Do you need to take a good look at your diet in order to work out where you might be deficient?

It is also worth discussing this with your doctor, they will be able to go through a few of your symptoms or how you are feeling and give you some advice and information about which multivitamin will be best for you.

And walnut everybody likes the idea of men’s and women’s vitamins. There are some slight differences between the contents of each vitamin tablet.

According to the Institute of Medicine, women and men have the same basic requirements for calcium and vitamin D, E and B12. It should be noted that breastfeeding or pregnant women may need more specific nutrients like folic acid, for example. Men, however need a small amount more vitamin C than women, this is 90 mg each day versus 75 mg each day. In premenopausal women will need more iron 80 mg per day versus 8 mg per day. However, postmenopausal women will need the exact same iron quota as men.

Of course, it is still always worth consulting your doctor before you have any multivitamin added to your diet.

Probiotics

The health of your gut is a serious thing. There is a whole host of ecosystems in the body, and each one of them needs to be cared for and balanced in the best way possible. Did you know that 80% of the immune system is in your gut, and 95% of your serotonin levels are produced in the gut too. Serotonin is essential for mood regulation. So if there is an imbalance, and there quite often is, it can cause a lot more issues than just an upset tummy.

When you introduce a probiotic every day into your diet it will keep your microbiomes in balance. After a few weeks, you should notice a decrease in digestive discomfort, much better and more regular toilet habits, and potentially feeling slightly better overall.

Well everybody is different, almost all bodies require the same things to keep running well. So as well as enjoying a healthy well-balanced diet, and ensuring that you manage to go for a walk at least once a week if not every day These five health supplements should help you feel your very best.

It is important to note that all the stores of things like iron vitamin D and B12 are built up over time you will feel an initial difference just after a day or two, so you need to make sure that you make your supplements are part of your morning routine. It is wise to set a reminder on your phone or find a health app that will help you be reminded when to take them.

Of course, before you take any supplements, make sure that there are going to be no impact on any medication that you already have. This is why talking to your GP is a huge benefit, and of course, if you want to just feel better in general drink as much water per day as you can. Because as well as being deficient in vitamins and minerals, we are all a little dehydrated.
