Winter is here and that means it’s time to get into the holiday spirit! And one of the biggest holiday flavors is peppermint!

This is why we’re giving you a delicious bark recipe perfect for the holidays or just lounging around your home to snack on.

Peppermint and chocolate make a perfect combination. For this recipe we’re using delicious chocolate of your favorite kind- you cannot do this wrong.

Chef It Up

Growing up I was used to cookies and candy alike being made around the holiday season. First, I didn’t want to be the one to make a bad treat. And I didn’t want to let anyone down.

This recipe is perfect for total pros or brand new beginners.

Personalize Your Taste

The best part of this recipe is the ability to personalize it to your taste, lets begin! Nearly every item in this recipe can be swapped for your specific favorites.

No matter your preference, if you like dark or white chocolate, milk or semi-sweet you’ll enjoy it. If you prefer your peppermint as candy canes– get whatever size you like!

Or perhaps you like the peppermint single candies the best. And maybe you want to throw in something extra to really put your personal touch.

There is no wrong answer. It is all about having fun and making something you and your party will love.

Make It A Party

For the holidays this year, we suggest giving everyone their own set of ingredients and letting the imaginations go wild. Also, with such little work involved, even the youngest aspiring chefs can participate in this project.

Let everyone make their own and see how the creativity comes out, and enjoy watching smiles light up the faces of everyone around.

This is another recipe that is easy for everyone to participate in safely. Get prepackaged ingredients and let everyone work in their own space- you could even get together and do this over video chat for friends and families far apart. You really can’t go wrong.

And best of all? It’s quick and it’s FUN. Which is really what this is all about.

“Holiday Peppermint Chocolate Bark” Ingredients:

To make this Holiday Peppermint Chocolate Bark recipe, you will need…

  • Tray: Any size will do, but I recommend using one like this.
  • Chocolate: Use your favorite kind! Chips, bars, or whatever else you like  (I used these.)
  • Sweet Condensed Milk: I recommend a 14oz can per 12oz of chocolate. (This one is great to use!)
  • Cookies: To crush and toss in. (Oreos are a personal favorite, but use whatever you like!) And don’t be afraid to double up!
  • Peppermint: Candy canes, mints, whatever is your favorite. And the amount is all about how much you desire. (We recommend these!)

How To Make Holiday Peppermint Chocolate Bark :

1. Line baking tray. First, line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

2. Crush toppings. Place your cookies and peppermint into separate kitchen bags and crush them up. For convenience, we ecommend using a rolling pin or spoon. You could use your hands, too! You want everything broken up into an assorted size of pieces, some large and some very small.

3. Melt the chocolate. Pour your chocolate into a bowl and melt it. There are several ways you can do this. I recommend using the microwave as it is the easiest. If using chocolate bars, make sure to break them up into pieces. Microwave your chocolate in 30-second increments, mixing after each cycle. This will take a few minutes so it is important to use small bursts of time. As a result, the chocolate doesn’t burn!

4. Add sweet condensed milk. Once your chocolate is melted, pour in the sweetened condensed milk and mix together.

5. Pour chocolate mixture into pan. Carefully pour your melted chocolate/sweetened condensed milk mixture into the pan.

6. Add toppings. Sprinkle your crushed cookies and peppermint into the melted chocolate mixture. This part is all about your preference.

7. Set aside. Set your bark aside to set up. Depending on the temperature of the room, the time could vary. Try pressing your finger or a toothpick in the corner to test if the chocolate has firmed back up. To speed up the process, try sticking it in the fridge or freezer.

8. Enjoy. Break up your bark however you like- use a knife, a pizza cutter, cut out shapes with cookie cutters, or just break it apart with your hands!
