How to Style Boots for the Summer

As the seasons change, we start to open the boxes of summer clothes, go on a shopping spree, or transition our tank tops and shorts to the front of our closet. The sandals, shorts, tank tops, flowy dresses, and bathing suits come out. The sweaters, coats, and heavy fabrics go to the back of our wardrobe to forget about for a few months. The only problem with this method is it limits what you can do with your outfits. When you store half of your clothes away for half of the year you aren’t allowing yourself to build outfits with those pieces. Of course, you aren’t going to be using your winter parka in the summertime, but what about your boots and booties? Carry all your cute fall booties into the summer to spruce up your outfits. Check out these ideas on how to style boots for the summertime.

#1 City Girl

This look is probably my favorite and is really easy to recreate. Chances are you already have all of these pieces. Pair a fitted cropped tee with a loose flowing, midi skirt and finish off the look with Dr. Martens. If you don’t already have a pair of these boots, I highly suggest the splurge. They are staples in every closet, come in every color, and can be worn with almost everything. Matching girly items with street style is a great way to create variety in any outfit.

#2 Everyday Chic

This is a no brainer when it comes to outfits. Take a white button-up or a dressy shirt, tuck it into some cut off denim shorts, and pair with some Chelsea booties. The top and boots give it an element of chicness while the shorts make it appear to be effortlessly put together. If you haven’t already guessed it, these looks are all about balance. This is a super easy way to style boots for the summer.

#3 Flirty

Summer is that one time of year you can throw on a sundress and boom, you have an outfit done in a matter of seconds. Why no elevate that look by adding a fitted white tee underneath the dress and popping on a pair of heeled booties to finish the look? This is great for any occasion.

#4 City Street Style

This look styles Dr. Martens for the summer again, but with a new twist. Start with a pair of biker shorts and any kind of top that you like — this can be a cropped tank top or teeshirt, just something casual. Add a statement crossbody bag and finish with Dr. Martens. This is a great way to style boots for the summer.

#5 Date Night

This style is perfect for any date night or walking around town with your girlfriends. Start with a fitted tank top, then throw over a slouchy thin sweater. Finish this look with gold jewelry, black shorts, and some fun heeled booties.

These are just a few ways that you can style the boots in your closet for warm weather. Get creative and play with what you have in your closet. You might have overlooked items in the past, deeming them only for the cold weather.
