Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker takes on the leading role of toymaker Jeronicus Jangle. Jangle lives in the town of Cobbleton, inventing alongside his trusted apprentice, Emmy winner Keegan Michael Key. When a situation arises between Jangle and his apprentice, it is up to Jangle’s granddaughter, newcomer Madalen Mills, to use her inventive nature and right the situation. The film also features Tony Award Winners Anika Noni Rose and Phylicia Rashad. Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville as well as Grammy winner Ricky Martin also star in the film. The talent in within this cast brings live and love to the citizens of Cobbleton and makes it easy to fall in love with this move.

Legendary Music and Choreography
Behind the scenes, eight-time Grammy Award winner Phillip Lawrence worked alongside EGOT winner John Legend to bring the film’s soundtrack to life. The music made for this film is truly something special and you can hear the talent and effort that went into making it. Director David E. Talbot is said to have spent 20 years preparing for this film, intending to redefine musical productions for the next generation, so the music had to be just as good as the story. To accompany the unforgettable score, Greatest Showman Ashley Wallen worked with diverse dancers to choreograph dance styles from all over the globe. Diversity is a cornerstone in this film, and it is lovely to watch the appreciation of many different cultures through the choreography.
I honestly enjoyed this film. The talent, effort, and love that went into the production is pretty undeniable in viewing. The storyline is made even better by the catchy music and show-stopping choreography. I was very happy to see different types of dance styles and overall amazing diversity among the entire cast. I feel like this movie is a modern take on a timeless style of movie that leaves you feeling good. After watching this movie, not only could I not get the song “Make It Work” out of my head, I was absolutely ready to put up all of my Christmas Decorations.
