“Jungle Cruise” A Delightful Adventure – Movie Review
Disney’s feature film Jungle Cruise is an exciting new adventure coming to theaters and on Disney+ July 30th. Audiences join Dr. Lily Houghton on a quest to find a legendary tree with healing powers. In her hopes to change medicine forever, she teams up with Skipper Frank Wolff to journey along the Amazon River.
Along the way, this team of explorers must race against evil to prevent their enemies from gaining the tree’s power. They survive nature, jungle inhabitants, and even ancient curses!

Bringing The Ride To Life
Jungle Cruise is inspired by the legendary Disney theme park ride The Jungle Cruise in Disneyland. The attraction itself involves park guests boarding a riverboat. They then sail along famous rivers, accompanied by a tour guide, and greet many tropical creatures along the way.
The film perfectly captures the feelings of being an early 1900’s explorer, just like the park attraction. Also, audiences will enjoy seeing all of their favorite jungle animals brought to life and interacting with characters.
The movie also captures the cheesy jungle tour that park guests know and love. Jungle Cruise makes a trip along The Amazon River so appealing that viewers will want to go themselves!

Emily Blunt plays Dr. Lily Houghton. She is in search of a magical tree that has healing powers. Lily wants to save as many lives as possible and change the medical world. She travels with her reluctant brother McGregor.
Lily is determined to help people and to be taken seriously as a woman in science. Also, she is very headstrong. This is a very good quality, but sometimes it gets her into trouble.
Dwayne Johnson plays skipper Frank Wolff, an adventurer and river guide. With the help of his jungle friends, Frank makes his money scamming tourists for money. He is a gifted sailor, and he loves making puns.

Blunt and Johnson work very well together, both as a comedic duo and as a romantic match.
Jack Whitehall plays McGregor, Lily’s brother. McGregor has an appetite for the finer things in life, so he is not excited to travel through the jungle. However, he makes the best of things and his hilarious commentary helps the journey go smoothly.
Fans of Whitehall will be surprised to see him sporting a clean-shaven face. Nonetheless, he perfectly embraces the clean-cut and polished characteristics of McGregor. Whitehall delivers a charming and hilarious performance.
Jesse Plemons portrays Prince Joachim, the villain who is racing Lily to the tree.
Édgar Ramírez plays the explorer Aguirre. He is haunted by an ancient curse in the jungle.
Fans also get a pleasant surprise seeing Paul Giamatti in the role of Nilo.
