Keto-Friendly Ground Turkey Pizza

This pizza is easy and super fun to make. With all the great flavors and toppings to add, you’ll want to make this recipe all the time!

This pizza should be on the top of your recipes to try. I love pizza because you can always get creative with your toppings. Pizza is my all-time favorite food. I love making pizza, especially since I can experiment with my herbs and toppings. If you’re trying to cut back and watch your diet, then this recipe is keto-friendly as the dough has Almond Flour and nutrient flax in it. These two ingredients give you that nutrient value. The pizza dough is also Paleo-Friendly & Vegan. So, if you don’t want to order pizza from your local pizza place and want to experiment and get creative, this is the way to go!

Whether you are making this pizza for your family, friends, or even coworkers, this recipe can surely be enjoyable. This recipe was the first time for me to make it, and I must say that I don’t regret it. The mushroomsspinach, and onions make it extra delicious. Depending on how much time you have, you can make a homemade pizza sauce and dough. I used Simple Mills Almond Flour Baking Mix Pizza Dough.

Keto-Friendly Ground Turkey Pizza Ingredients:

Veggies:

Onions: Use 1/2 Cup of Onions; They have so many varieties, I use sweet onions. However, Substituting other veggies will work as well.

Mushrooms: Use 1/2 Cup of Mushrooms; If you use whole, you will want to slice them up first. You may also want to substitute with cherry or grape tomatoes.

Spinach: Use 1/2 Cup of Spinach; If you don’t like spinach, you may also want to try some diced chicken, pineapple, or ham on your pizza.

Other Ingredients:

Pizza Sauce: 1/2 Cup of Pizza Sauce; I used the Contadina Pizza Squeeze, but depending on what you like, you might want barbecue sauce, alfredo guacamole, or a homemade pizza sauce.

Mozzarella Cheese: I used part-skim Mozzarella Cheese. There are plenty of other cheeses you may want to substitute.

Parsley: 1 teaspoon of parsley; this is to garnish the top, but feel free to use whatever garnish you like, whether that is seasoning salt or garlic.

Almond Flour Baking Mix Pizza Dough: Almond Flour is an alternative for traditional wheat flour. If you want to use the Almond Flour Baking Mix Pizza Dough by Simple Mills, there are many seasonings and herbs that come in with this mix, such as Arrowroot Flax MealCauliflowerBaking SodaOrganic OreganoCream of Tartar, and Organic garlic. The whole mix makes 2 8 inch pizzas. You have the option to make two; however, I only made 1 12 inch pizza.

Ground Turkey: 1 pound of Ground Turkey; this is a great healthier substitute compared to Ground Beef or Sausage.

Apple Cider Vinegar: 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar has a lot of benefits, such as for so many different things, and it is a lot healthier than other ingredients.

Italian Extra-Virgin Olive Oil: 2 to 3 Tablespoon of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, and you will need extra when handling the dough. Olive Oil gives me flavor and makes it easier when you are ready to flatten the dough on a pizza pan.

Slice onion carefully into thin slices.

HOW TO MAKE KETO-FRIENDLY GROUND TURKEY PIZZA:

Cook Ground Turkey: Take out a medium-sized skillet and cook your ground turkey over medium heat until it is all brown. Pour meat in a prep bowl and set aside.

Sort and get veggies ready: Put 1/2 cup of spinach, 1/2 cup of mushrooms, and 1/2 cup of onions all in separate bowls. You want to make sure to slice up your onion and mushrooms before you are ready to put them on your pizza.

Preheat Oven: Go ahead and Preheat your Oven to 350.

Make Pizza Dough: Get out a medium-size mixing bowl and whisk together your Pizza Dough Mix, 1/3 Cup of Water, 2 to 3 tablespoon of Italian Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, and 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. Mix until a dough starts to form.

Cover Non-Stick Pizza Pan with Olive Oil: Get out a Non-Stick Pizza Pan and pour one tablespoon of olive oil on the pan and smooth out with your hands. You might also want some more olive oil on your hands before you start flattening out the dough.

Flatten out Pizza Dough: Take your Pizza Dough and Flatten out on the pizza pan until it covers around the edges.

Place In Oven: Wants you have the dough flattened out on the pan. Finally, place the pizza in Oven and Bake for 15 minutes.

Ready for your Pizza Sauce: If you use Contadina Pizza Sauce, I recommend cutting the amount you use since it contains sugar.

Sprinkle on Veggies: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of mushrooms, 1/2 cup of spinach, 1/2 cup of onions, and one tablespoon of parsley on top.

Place back in Oven: Place the Pizza in the Oven for 10 more minutes.

Take out of the oven and your ready to slice up and serve!

These toppings give plenty of flavor and make the pizza extra tasty. Placing them in prep bowls or plates saves a lot of time.

NOTES:

Making sure your dough is spread out evenly on the pan so that it touches the edges is very important. It sure makes for one tasty crust with all the herbs and flavors in the dough. This dough makes two pizzas, so depending on how much you want to make, this is another option. As I mentioned earlier, tweak this recipe any way you like. Pizza Sauce can be adjusted to a lesser amount since I used a brand with more sugar than most people on a keto diet.
