Kourtney Kardashian Credits Low Carb + Fasting for Her Fit Figure

Kourtney Kardashian has one bangin’ body. If you follow her on social media you know she is always doing intense workouts to keep that figure, but as we have all learned its 80% what you actually put into your body. Kourtney lives a diet life that excludes basically everything bad for you.  She is dedicated and when it comes to her eating habits, this girl is strict.

For breakfast, Kardashian says she is allowed to eat “minimal amounts of fruit,” so she usually opts for her go-to avocado smoothie.  For lunch and dinner, she eats proteins like fish and chicken.  Keeping it low carb sometimes she’ll add some cauliflower rice or broccoli. Following dinner, she does intermediate fasting, which basically means she is not allowed to eat breakfast for 14 to 16 hours.

She is also part of the fasting trend.  She shared on her app, that one day per week, she does a 24-hour fast.  During which she only drinks water and bone broth. “On fasting days, I try to stay busy and, if I’m home, I’ll avoid going into the kitchen,” she says.

Kourt says she has been detoxing “on and off for a few months now”.  It all started when she said her doctor found high levels of mercury and lead in her system. In order to keep her body in a state of ketosis—”when the glycogen in your liver is depleted and the body burns fatty acids for energy,” Kardashian shared—she follows a prolonged, restrictive eating plan.

The “Keto” diet is continuing to gain popularity and if this Kardashian sister is following the plan, maybe we all need to give it a try.  She In general, the plan consists of 3 meals a day that are low-carb, high in protein and fatty acids.

“I’m not going to sugarcoat it, this detox is difficult,” she says.  “I also know that I need to enjoy my life, so I break the rules when I go on vacation or if there’s a special occasion.”  But, for the most part she stays pretty strict giving herself goals like 3 months of staying on diet.
