A Look Inside the Bit-O-Local STL Spring Box

I love supporting small businesses.  With large retailers and massive chains taking over the markets, it feels like we’re living in a homogenized world.  When buying locally, there’s character in everything from the store itself to the merchandise they sell.  Bit-O-Local is a subscription box filled with handpicked artisan goods from local artists, tinkerers, craftsman, producers, and others who want to share their craft with the world.

I received their Spring Makers Box this week and the products are too good to not share!  Everything from scented candles to coconut butter are included and I am so excited to try all of the products!  Here’s what’s inside this month’s box and why it’s absolutely amazing!

Glow Candle Co.

If you’ve been reading the blog for any length of time, you may have figured out that candles are my kryptonite.  No matter what store I’m in or what I’m shopping for, I always manage to find the scented candles and will spend a fairly significant amount of time sniffing them.  As soon as I saw this candle in the box, I knew I was in for a treat.  Glow Candle Co. hand pours all of their candles in small batches and are made with 100% soy wax.  The candles are intended to take you on a journey with an array  of delicious fragrances.  This lavender lemon scent is perfect for spring and reminds me of a nice relaxing spa day. The perfect finishing touch?  All of the scent names are handwritten on the container to give a more personal touch.

Goodnight St. Louis

While the book may be great for children, it’s just as fun for us big kids too!  This coloring book based off the best-selling book by June Herman and Julie Dubray is so deeply loved by locals for a reason.  It’s a whimsical journey through all of St. Louis’ most popular attractions, iconic landmarks, and historic neighborhoods.  Get ready to hear the lions roar at the St. Louis Zoo, play in the Citygarden fountains, and view downtown St. Louis from the top of the Arch.

Coconut Kitchen

Coconuts are amazing nuts!  The benefits of coconuts are endless.  Their incredibly good for digestion, helps increase your metabolism, helps boost immunity, is a great source of energy and is low in sugar.  Angie Carl of Coconut Kitchen believes in the power of coconuts and went on to create her own coconut butter.  She describes the tasty butter as simple and natural.  Bit-O-Local included the Lemon Zest coconut butter in their box this month.  It’s slightly sweet and super refreshing.  It’s the perfect for desserts or to even eat with vegetables!

Looking Glass Designs

In need of a customized gift to show someone just how much you care?  Looking Glass Designs specializes in just that!  With a store full of St. Louis themed gifts designed by local artists, it’s easy to find the perfect gift for anyone.  The wooden Batter Up spoon that’s included in this month’s box is fun and whimsical.  I can’t wait to leave this on my kitchen counter for a fun conversational piece!

Oh, So Poppy!

Prints are a fun and simple way to showcase your personality in your home! I have several around my desk at home. Oh, So Poppy’s amusing and colorful prints are just what any home or office space needs to brighten up the space. Oh, So Poppy has been featured in Good Housekeeping and Domino Magazine. This extra sweet “Hello” print would look gorgeous in an entry way or foyer while the “Eat Real Food” print would go perfect in the kitchen or dining area.
