Low Carb Full Day Meal Guide
We have the scoop on low carb meals from Breakfast to Dessert. Low carb diets can sometimes get you in a rut, so here are a few fresh ideas to spice up your diet.
Breakfast:
Eggs and Sausage- this makes a hearty meal to start the morning and keeps you full longer due to the high amount of protein it posses.
Tomatoes with S&P- this summer inspired dish is a medium size meal to crush those morning cravings, and you’ll be surprised how good this raw seasoned fruit tases.
Cup of Coffee with Unsweetened Almond Milk- if you’re like me and sometimes don’t have a major appetite in the morning, this low carb way to make your coffee is the way to go. You can wake up with your favorite beverage and still stay on your diet! Alternatives include a splash or heavy whipping cream, or soy milk. You can also find sugar free syrups to add a little sweetness and flavor to your coffee.
Lunch:
Spinach Salad with Steak and Blue Cheese: really you can do any combination of meat and cheese on a bed of spinach and it will be low carb. I like to use cubed steak on top of my spinach and top with some blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. Another one of my favorites is my taco salad: ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning on top of spinach finished with taco blend cheese and ranch dressing. So good!
Homemade Veggie Soup- by making your own veggie soup you can avoid adding all the high carb veggies like potatoes and corn. Instead try making yours with tomatoes, carrots, celery, water chestnuts, and green beans or whatever other low carb veggie you might want to add.
Zoodles/Spaghetti Squash-by enjoying zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash you can still enjoy a good italian flare without all the carbs. Top these noodle alternatives with low carb marinara sauce and parmesan cheese.
Dinner:
Pulled Pork with Sugar Free BBQ Sauce- just because you’re low carb, doesn’t mean you have to give up your guilty pleasure! Just thow a pork butt in the crock pot and stop by your local grocery store and pickup some sugar free BBQ sauce and you have yourself a great meal.
Green Peppers Stuffed with Ground Beef and Cream Cheese- this is one of my favorite meals that I’d eat even if I wasn’t low carb because it’s just that good. All you do is melt some ground beef with cream cheese and stuff it into a green pepper, top with some cheese and warm in the oven.
Grilled Chicken and Green Beans- this is a classic dinner, but an easy one. Just grill (or bake) some chicken and add some cooked green beans of your choice and you’ve got yourself a meal pretty quick. You can even dip your chicken in your favorite low carb dipping sauce (mine would be Ranch).
Dessert:
Halo Top Ice Cream- if you’re careful about portion control and reading labels, you can enjoy a little ice cream on your diet. These advertised as ‘low calorie’ ice cream pints are also low carb. Woohoo!
Diet Soda- sometimes I don’t have many carbs to spare but I am wanting something to satisfy my sweet tooth. Just having a diet soda usually will curb that craving for me with no carbs (I’m a Diet Coke girl).
Zucchini Brownies- this popular dessert has many recipes you can find with one quick search online, and will make you feel like you are having a delicious brownie without completely throwing off your diet.
Low carb doesn’t have to be only a diet, but can turn into a lifestyle path.
