What is it?

To put it simply, it’s a light-up cube that you inflate yourself that also can charge your phone. It flattens into a small square so that you can put in your backpack or beach bag, making travel easy. It’s soft and squishy, but also durable and waterproof!

How does it work?

This cube can charge when it’s in direct sunlight without any plugs, and you’ll know it’s working because a little red light will turn on. Although it says to place outside to charge, we noticed that the light still turned on even in a sunny room indoors. It takes around 16 hours of sunlight to fully charge (but who has time for that), or you can plug it into an outlet before you leave and it will charge in 2-4 hours.

After your Packlite Hero is charged up, the next step is to inflate it! It only takes a few seconds, and you do this manually. Next, press the power button and the light will come on! There’re several different light settings with different brightness. You can now plug your USB into the top part to charge your phone.

When you’re done with the supercharger, unplug your phone, turn off the light, and then deflate it so it’s ready for travel again!

What we love

This Packlite Hero is very soft and easy to bring around. You can clip it to your bag, and it doesn’t take up much space. It charges well too, and even with a cloudy sky, it can detect solar energy. It’s great for multiple situations and provides different amounts of light, so you have variability.

What we don’t love

It takes a very long time to get a full charge using solar panels only. Sixteen hours of sunlight are difficult and a bit impractical for most people. But if you just charge it in an outlet before you leave, it’s not too bad. Also, it isn’t recommended that you charge your phone while the cube is plugged into an outlet, which is annoying.

The Packlite Hero Supercharger would be a great addition in any adventurous family’s to-go bags. Customers have used it for emergency earthquake kits, log cabins, sailboats, power outages and tents! Versatile, portable and innovative— this supercharger is definitely worth it.
