Matcha Green Tea Mug Cake

This matcha mug cake is such a good dessert to eat while giving caffeine to boost your day! Stick it in the microwave for a minute and you’re good to go!

Matcha green tea lattes are one of my favorite drinks to wake me up! Sometimes I don’t feel in the mood for a drink and want something to eat, so this is the perfect recipe! You can add your desired matcha powder and make it your own!

This mug cake is a nice light and subtle dessert for the people who do not like super sweet and sugary desserts You can add however much sugar you want to the cake to adjust it to your liking.

There are many different kinds of matcha powders, for me, mine already had monk fruit sweetener in it so it did not need too much sugar!

How To Make Matcha Mug Cake:

  • Add Dry Ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug, add the flour, baking powder, matcha powder, and granulated white sugar. Mix them until there are no big chunks.
  • Add wet ingredients: After mixing the dry ingredients, add the milk and oil. Make sure the ingredients are all fully mixed and evenly absorbed with the dry ingredients.
  • Microwave for 1 minute: Be careful when you take the mug out, it will be hot!

NOTES:

If you want to make it an extra yummy and sweet dessert, add some whipped cream or chocolate chips! This recipe is an easy and quick cake for on the go! Remember this recipe is on the semi-sweet side so make sure to add more sugar if you want a more sweet dessert!

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of matcha powder
  • 1 tbsp of granulated white sugar
  • 3 tbsp of any choice of milk (I prefer soy milk)
  • 1/2 tbsp of vegetable oil

Notes
