Meet Miss America Twitter Party and Amazing Causes #MeetMissA

There are so many amazing causes in the world today and I absolutely love how Miss America gets involved with them.  As part of a project with  Miss America I was asked to write about a cause I am passionate about, so here it goes.  As a true fashionista, there are few things I love more than long hair.  However,  giving your hair to someone who truly needs it, is definitely worth a few months of rocking a short cut.

About a year ago I took part in Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  It is an amazing organization partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society.  You can cut your hair and donate it for wigs.  The wigs are then given to women with cancer.  They even give you the option to include your address and you can get more information on who your hair provided a wig for.

The role of Pantene is to help women grow long, strong,* beautiful hair and provide the funds to turn this hair into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer. So far, Pantene has donated 24,000 free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country.

This is such an amazing organization and I think Miss America should take note because it is an easy way to make a huge impact on someone’s life.  Not having your hair would make any women feel vulnerable.  Organizations like Pantene Beautiful Lengths are so inspiring.  I think by involving Miss America this cause would gain even more positive exposure.

*If you are considering participating, please note- Donations shorter than 8 inches will not be used, because this is too short for making a wig. If your hair is not 8 inches, continue growing it out. There is no maximum length requirement.

I will continue to talk more details about my experience this Thursday with Miss America during a Twitter Party.  The party will take place at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST.  I would LOVE for your to join me and Miss America to talk even more about Pantene Beautiful Lengths and other amazing causes.  The Miss America organization is constantly helping women further their life.  Artistry Cosmetics is making a positive change in our world by provided finances for women to continue their education.
