Meet Your New Crush Taylor Zakhar Perez
The Kissing Booth 2 premiered on Netflix this past weekend. If you watched the movie then you know the new kid Marco Peña. The man behind Marco? Taylor Zakhar Perez. If you haven’t fallen in love with him already, then get ready.
Who is Taylor?
Taylor is a Los Angeles based actor. According to his IMDB page, he has previously appeared in shows such as Young & Hungry, iCarly, Awkward, and Scandal. He also had a recurring role on the TV show Embeds. In addition to acting, he was also an Associate Producer on a TV-Show called High Expectasians.
Outside of his basic biography of work, and based off of interviews and his Instagram, Perez is an activist and a family-oriented person. He has posted resources and calls to action for the Black Lives Matter movement, going well beyond the black square. Even amidst all the hype for The Kissing Booth 2, he still took the time to provide resources on how to make sure you are registered to vote (text FRIENDS to 26797). In a recent video with Seventeen his goofy personality shines through as well as his family who is the people he spends quarantine with.

Perez has recently risen to fame with his role as Marco in The Kissing Booth 2. Marco has been introduced this film as a new friend and love interest for Elle. Coming in as a second love interest is always a hard feat. Especially after everything Noah and Elle went through in the first film. You have everything stacked against you from the perspective of the story and the audience. Despite this, Taylor came in and stole the whole movie.
Marco was talented, driven, and kind. Not to mention we see him be athletic, sing, play guitar, and dance throughout the movie. He is a quintuple threat. Also, I mean just look at him, he is gorgeous. In addition, Elle and Marco pushed one another to grow and become better people. Leaving many fans (myself included) to disagree with Elle’s final choice of Noah (the original man) over him. He entered this movie, stole the show, and became the internet’s new crush. All in all, Perez is a heartthrob both on and off the screen.
