While it’s true that Disney can sometimes be labeled for children, the true magic of Disney is that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages! No matter what happens in the world, Disney has always been there to provide us with comfort and stability through the love of our favorite characters time and time again.

Today we’re focusing on the Woman In Charge: Minnie Mouse herself! Minnie has proven countless times that she is an icon of feminism, strength, courage, and kindness. Which is why today’s treat is a tasty homage to Minnie and her iconic hair bow.

One of the fun parts about this treat is the chance for everyone to participate. For the younger bakers, pouring ingredients and stirring is a great job to take on, while the more experienced chefs can handle things around the oven.

And when the time to decorate comes, everyone has a place at the counter! Print pictures of Minnie Mouse for reference, and let imaginations go wild.

Enjoy putting silly faces or big eyes on the mouse; change up the colors of her bow, or give her new accessories all together. Make it a contest to see who can be the most creative!

The great part is that there is no wrong answer. This is what is the best part about creating- spending time together, making memories, and having fun! Set out your decorating tools, put on your favorite toons or Disney film, and lose track of time as you create delicious treats for you and your friends and family.

Also, try making a double batch and wrapping them up as gifts! Cute containers from the dollar store or gift bags work great, and they make the perfect small gift for friends or neighbors.

Maybe even print out a copy of the recipe to attach so they can make their own and keep the fun going!

“MINNIE MOUSE COOKIES” INGREDIENTS:

Okay, let’s talk about ingredients.  To make these adorable Minnie Mouse Cookies you will need…

  • Sugar: 1/2 cup granulated, not powdered.
  • Flour: 2 ½ cups, all purpose.
  • Sugar sprinkles: ½ teaspoon. They have to be sugar sprinkles, no other kind! This is what gives Minnie her color! We suggest using red or pink.
