Set Visit: The Best of Me
You know those experiences you have in life that make you feel like you are living in a dream. I had one of those and I want to share it with you. I still remember the morning that I opened my email and it said I was invited to visit the set of The Best of Me. I could not believe it. I must have read that email 100 times. I am so excited to share with you my visit to the set of The Best of Me.
Traveling to New Orleans to get a behind the scenes look at a Hollywood movie was truly an amazing experience. This was the first time I have ever visited New Orleans and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to top it. I met an amazing group of bloggers and has an unforgettable experience. The day on set started early when we all piled into two vans to drive out of the city part of New Orleans and head to a plantation.
When we first pulled up, we were taken to the trailer area. Yes, the movie stars really do have on set trailers.
From there we geared up to head to the set!! I was so excited as we were on our way to meet up with the cast and crew. We were to the most beautiful place, Magnolia Plantation. This is the location of Amanda’s home in The Best of Me. I remember when we pulled up to the set and I could not believe how beautiful it was. The Best of Me is filmed on a gorgeous plantation in New Orleans.
I could not pass up on my chance to get a few pictures in front of these amazing place. This plantation has been used in other movies, as well. It was used for scenes Crazy in Alabama and 12 Years a Slave. Although, we didn’t get to go inside I took advantage of the beautiful day and took a ton of photos outside.
The scenery here was seriously amazing. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more beautiful place. I can’t wait to see The Best of Me in theaters this October 17. I am sure it is going to be the most amazing movie. After we arrived and snapped some pictures, we were able to take a seat on set and watch one of the scenes being filmed.
It was so fun watching the scenes being filmed. These actors really do work hard on their job. There were many scnese that had to be reshot for multiple reasons. I can’t wait to see how perfectly each scence appears in the finale product.
We did a little more exploring and watching before we interviewed the stars. 🙂
First up, we interviewed Nicholas Sparks. Don’t forget to check out my write up about why I think Nicholas Sparks is so inspiring.
All of the bloggers sat around with the stars and we asked them questions. Everyone got a turn to ask a questions or two and the stars were all so fun and welcoming. They joked with us and had fun with the interviews. Honestly, it made me even more excited to see The Best of Me. You could tell every single person we talked with was passionate about what they were doing and really loved it. Check out my photos with the stars of the movies. ((I am still SHOCKED this happened)).
Being on the movie set was an absolute dream come true. We witnessed so many amazing scenes being filmed. One thing I really found neat was the fact that all of the people involved in the movie eat lunch together. We (yes, us included 🙂 ) headed to a common cafeteria area for lunch. The cast, crew, guest, etc. all sat at cafeteria tables and ate with each other. I realized on this set visit, how much work truly goes into making a movie and I can’t wait to see this one all come together.
This was a very special day for me. It didn’t end there, though. After our day on set we went to Tableau Restaurant at The French Quarters. This place is stunning. I’m a sucker for chandleries and snapped a picture.
This was the experience of a lifetime. I can honestly say I have never been more excited to see a movie. I hope you will check out The Best of Me in theater on October 17. Make sure you let me know what you think of the movie.
