Thanks to insight from Us Weekly, here is the scoop on David Spade hosting Bachelor in Paradise!
What About Chris Harrison?
Since the premiere of Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, a lot has changed in Bachelor Nation. During the season, contestant Rachael Kirkconnell faced allegations of racism due to insensitive photos gaining attention.
Former star of The Bachelorette Rachael Lindsay and host Chris Harrison discussed the situation in an interview where Harrison defended Kirkconnell. As a result following backlash from fans, Harrison will not be hosting the upcoming seasons of The Bachelorette or Bachelor in Paradise.
Chris Harrison appeared on Good Morning America saying, “I plan to be back and I want to be back. And I think this franchise can be an important beacon of change.”
In the meantime, The Bachelorette hosts will be former stars of the series Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. As for Bachelor in Paradise, comedian David Spade is going to be one of the guest hosts for the new season!
David Spade is Coming to Paradise
David Spade, known for his work in The Emperor’s New Groove, Rules of Engagement, and Grown Ups is set to appear as one of the guest hosts for the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise. Spade also reposted several stories about his new hosting gig to his Instagram story.
It is no secret that the actor loves Bachelor Nation! Back in 2016, David Spade shared his love of the franchise. He told Canadian newspaper Windsor Star, “There’s so many embarrassing things each show that happen. I wish I was just doing a live feed while I watched it and just talk to the camera because everything about it makes me laugh.”
He also adds, “I watch five seconds and I’m drawn in. I would watch it more because of the drama and the craziness but I just don’t have time. Period. I like watching it because I can’t believe how easy it is for these girls to fall for this guy. I’ve never met a group of chicks that is falling so hard in 15 seconds.”
David Spade will not be the only host of Bachelor in Paradise this season. Apparently there will be several guest hosts, but the rest are unknown. Be sure to tune in August 16 at 8p.m. EST for all of the drama this season!
