This sequel is Internet-centric from our favorite apps to the jokes about aggressive autofill. There’s also a great moment where Vanellope and Ralph stumble upon the Disney corner of the web. Disney finally introduces fans to Yesss (Taraji P. Henson), a trend-maker and head algorithm who helps Ralph and Vanellope on their journey through the internet. There’s a cheeky moment when Yesss suggests the title: Ralph Breaks the Internet. Ralph and Vanellope ask why it isn’t Ralph Wrecks the Internet. The title is long and Ralph wrecks–it’s only natural right? Well, Yess knows what’s hot online, so Ralph Breaks the Internet it is!
But our favorite moment from the official trailer? When Vanellope joins the Disney Princesses! Things look pretty serene as the princesses relax in their private room. Elsa and Moana are having a nice chat with Anna nearby. Belle’s reading and Aurora’s napping. Every princess is just doing her own thing when Vanellope appears without warning.
The princesses spring into action. Mulan swings into view and Merida grabs her bow. Jasmine wields Genie’s lamp while Rapunzel has her cast-iron skillet ready to go. Cinderella even breaks her glass slipper as if she’s going to cut Vanellope. (Yikes!)
Our sweet racer tries to calm things down by telling the princesses that she’s a princess too! When Pocahontas asks Vanellope what kind of princess she is, the rest of the royals jump in with more questions. Can she make magic with her hands like Elsa? Has she ever been cursed like Snow White and Tiana? Does she have animals talk to her like Cinderella, Pocahontas, and Jasmine? The princesses keep listing qualifications until Vanellope gets a little freaked out.
But all hope isn’t lost! Vanellope has more in common with the other Disney Princesses than just the title.
