Patriotic Watermelon Feta Bites

When I’m planning a 4th of July spread, I always like to include something that’s light, fresh, and still festive.

These Patriotic Watermelon Feta Bites are just the thing!

They come together quickly, look adorable with the little flag toothpicks, and taste amazing.

The sweet and juicy watermelon paired with creamy, salty feta makes the perfect summer bite-sized snack.

How to Make Patriotic Watermelon Feta Bites

Cubes of watermelon and cheese topped with small American flags are arranged on a wooden serving board.

1. Slice and Cut the Watermelon
Start by cutting your watermelon into slices about 1 inch thick. Lay the slices flat on a cutting board and use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out 12 watermelon stars.

2. Cut the Feta
Take your block of feta and carefully cut it into 12 small cubes, each one should be just big enough to sit nicely on top of a watermelon star without falling off.

3. Assemble the Bites
Place one feta cube on top of each watermelon star, then secure it with a mini flag toothpick. Gently press the toothpick through the feta and into the watermelon to hold everything together.

4. Serve and Enjoy
Arrange them on a white platter for a pop of patriotic color, and you’re good to go! Keep them chilled until you’re ready to serve.

Tips

  • Use a seedless watermelon to save time and make eating easier.
  • If your feta is extra crumbly, try cutting it while it’s still slightly chilled to help it hold its shape.
