Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Slice the Watermelon
Start by placing the watermelon on a sturdy cutting board and slicing it into 1-inch thick rounds. This gives you the perfect surface area for cutting star shapes.

  1. Cut Out Stars
Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out three watermelon stars per skewer. You can press the cutter straight down through the slices and gently push the star shapes out.

Take a skewer and carefully poke through the center of one of your watermelon stars, placing it at the top of the skewer.

  1. Add Blueberries
Thread about 10 fresh blueberries under the watermelon stars to complete the red and blue color theme.
  2. Display and Serve
I like to arrange these on a platter or even stand them up in a mason jar for a fun presentation. Keep them chilled in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

Tips

  • If you’re making these ahead of time, keep the skewers in a single layer on a tray and cover with plastic wrap to keep them fresh.
