Red, White & Blue Dipped Apples

When summer rolls around and the holidays are in full swing, I love making festive snacks.

These red, white, & blue dipped apples are one of my go-to treats. They’re sweet, colorful, and incredibly easy to make!

Perfect for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or any summer get-together, these dipped apples add a fresh pop of color to your dessert table.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Three apples, wooden sticks, a bowl of white coating, and blue sugar on a granite countertop, arranged for candy apple preparation.

How to Make It

1. Prep your apples.
Wash and dry the apples really well. Any moisture on the skin can keep the chocolate from sticking. Then insert a popsicle stick into the top of each apple, it helps to twist a little as you push it in so it stays secure.

2. Melt the white chocolate.
Add the white chocolate chips or candy melts to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

3. Dip the apples.
Hold each apple by the stick and dip about halfway into the melted white chocolate. Let the excess drip off.

4. Add the blue sprinkles.
Right after dipping in chocolate, roll or dip the bottom part of the apple into the blue sprinkles. I usually pour them into a shallow bowl to make this part easier.

5. Let them set.
Place the apples on sheet of wax paper or parchment paper and let them sit until the chocolate hardens. You can speed this up by placing them in the fridge for about 10–15 minutes.

6. Serve and enjoy!
Once the chocolate has set, they’re ready to serve. You can place them on a red platter for some added fun! Sometimes I slice them up before serving to make them easier to eat, especially for kids.

Tips to Remember

  • If your chocolate is too thick, stir in a tiny bit of coconut oil to smooth it out.

Best of all, they take just a few minutes to make, so you can spend more time enjoying the celebration and less time in the kitchen.
