Regé-Jean Page’s Family Reacts To His Steamy Bridgerton Scenes

Fans of Netflix’s hit period drama series Bridgerton will remember some steamy moments featuring star Regé-Jean Page.

So while the star’s supportive family wanted to watch the show, maybe they could’ve used a warning. Apparently, the actor did not tell his family about his on-screen intimacy, so it was a surprise to them!

Thanks to insight from E! News and Page’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show, we have the scoop on how his family reacted to his steamy scenes in Bridgerton!

Regé-Jean Page’s Steamy Moments

Bridgerton has several NSFW moments, but Regé-Jean Page’s family had no idea. On The Graham Norton Show, Page revealed his family’s thoughts saying, “There were some cousins missing from the family WhatsApp group and they said, ‘We made our tactical cups of tea when you started and when we came back you were still going!'”

Bridgerton’s primary romance is between Simon and Daphne. Page plays Simon and his co-star Phoebe Dynevor plays Daphne. The actors have opened up about their on-screen romance and their efforts to make their chemistry authentic.

In an E! News exclusive interview the stars shared how they prepared. Page explains, “We had lessons dance lessons, writing lessons—essentially, a lot of time in each other’s arms before we even hit the set. And so once you’ve spent that many hours on the dance floor with someone, being close to someone, literally catching each other when you fall—and we didn’t fall because we weren’t brilliant dancers—then a lot of it happens quite organically.”

Preparing For The Scenes

Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor are not the only people who had to prepare. Apparently, these intimate scenes require lots of planing. Show creator Chris Van Dusen gives his insight on how these scenes came together.

Chris Van Dusen shares, “We had many, many conversations about exactly what we were doing. It was all so that the cast would feel comfortable, and we all we really left it in their hands to take the scenes for as far as they wanted to take them. Those scenes were heavily choreographed, much like an action sequence, like ‘Your hand goes here, your leg goes there.’ They were all really, really rehearsed.”
