Photography

I really enjoyed photography when I was younger. I loved taking walks around my neighborhood and snapping some photos of colorful flowers, curious critters, and other beautiful nature objects. Photography is a super fun way to spend these sunny days! It’s as simple as going outside to your backyard and taking some pictures with your phone or any camera you wish! For some extra fun, visit a pretty field, park, or trail!

Nature Journaling

What exactly is nature journaling? Simply put, it’s going outside into nature and drawing/writing whatever you see! Draw a forest or pond, write some poems about the flowers blooming in your yard. Just express yourself through the drawings and writings you document in your journal! At the end of the summer, you’ll have a journal full of creative drawings and memories to help you remember the wonderful days you had!

Baking/Cooking

For some recipe ideas, check out these creative dishes! For some extra summer fun, make some summery desserts such as a strawberry shortcake or homemade ice cream!

Tie-Dying

Tie-dying has become super trendy in recent years! It’s a fun DIY way to spice up some old T-shirts or clothing pieces you might not wear as much. Almost anything can be tie-dyed, including shirts, lounge pants, blankets, scarfs, the choices are endless! Also check out how to bleach tie-dye; this is sure to be a fun summer hobby!

Reading

Reading also used to be one of my favorite pastimes when I was younger. But, as the years went on, I found myself reading less and less. This summer, take some time to sit back, relax, and open a book! Try reading outside on your porch or deck, watching the sun set and enjoying the cool air.

Gardening

Once you grow your own tomatoes or peppers, you’ll never be able to go back to store-bought again! Having a mini garden can be some work, but it will all be worth it once you get to try those delicious, home-grown fruits and vegetables.
