Ingredients

Assorted candies and pretzels arranged on parchment paper: Hershey's Kisses, Rolo chocolates, mini pretzels, green M&M's, and pretzel sticks.

How to Make Shamrock Pretzels

Four shamrock shapes made from pretzels and pretzel sticks on parchment paper.
  1. Preheat & Prep – Preheat your oven to 250°F (130°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the Shamrocks – Lay out the pretzels: place one pretzel stick as the shamrock’s stem, then arrange three small pretzel twists at the top in a clover shape with their rounded sides facing inward.
  3. Add the Caramel Center – Set a Rolo candy in the center where all the pretzels meet. This will act as the “glue” when melted.
  4. Bake to Soften – Carefully place the baking sheet in the oven and warm for 2 minutes, just until the Rolos soften.
  5. Press & Secure – Remove from the oven and immediately press a green candy-coated chocolate button into the center of each softened Rolo. Gently press down so the melted chocolate spreads and holds the pretzels together.
  6. Cool & Set – Let the pretzels firm up in the fridge for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate and caramel to harden.
  7. Enjoy! – Once set, gently remove the Shamrock Pretzels from the parchment paper and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a few days.

Tips for the Best Shamrock Pretzels

  • Be Gentle – When arranging the pretzels, handle them carefully so they stay in place when transferring to the oven.
  • Watch the Oven – The Rolos only need about 2 minutes to soften—any longer, and they’ll become too runny.

  • Get Creative – If you want extra sparkle, sprinkle some edible gold dust or green sugar over the melted chocolate before it sets.
  • Make Ahead – These are great for prepping in advance since they keep well for a few days in an airtight container.
