Singer/Songwriter Alissa Musto Talks About Her New Single, Working in the Cruise Industry + Pageants & Feminism

Alissa Musto’s new single, “How Still,” pays tribute to the cruise industry that has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 crisis. The pandemic has affected hundreds of cruise employees, forcing them to stay aboard the ship for months. Lyrically, the song is an adaptation from a poem by Langston Hughes. Combined with her dulcet voice and years of experience on the piano, the result is a gorgeous piece of music.

The singer/songwriter feels like she lives a dream life as she gets to perform for thousands of people every night while traveling the world. Her Instagram features beautiful shots from Australia and New Zealand–places she often visits while she travels. You can find her music on Apple Music, Spotify, and just about anywhere you can stream music! If you haven’t given her a listen yet, what are you waiting for?

The Sarah Scoop Show loved talking to the talented, gorgeous, and incredibly wise Alissa Musto. She gave us the scoop on her sound, the writing process, day-to-day life living on a cruise ship, and how her experiences competing in the Miss America pageant do not disqualify her from being a powerful feminist. This lady is a girl boss for sure and she was a joy to speak with.
